I was driving back from DC to South Carolina on a business trip in a rented car with colleagues. Coming down the highway a bit over the speed limit. After being pulled over the trooper informed me I didn't have a valid drivers license cited me for speeding and the suspended license. That was ...a shock to me. I soon found out that my insurance company from Massachusetts hadn't filled out a form for the SC DMV I asked them to fill out. Well that meant I had had a suspended license for 11 months without knowing, as the notice was sent to my old address and not forwarded to me. I took care of the paperwork in two hours upon returning and was given my driving privileges back within 2 hours.
