Joel Stephen Jackson

Mr. Jackson provided excellent legal assistance to our Title IX case. He answered all of our questions and provided further explanation and examples when we didn't fully understand. He and his office were very flexible in our communications, using both phone and email. He was well versed in Title ...IX procedures with the school, and he provided excellent guidance and support during the Student Conduct hearing. He was upfront with his comments and provided constructive feedback during our first meeting. He and his office also assisted with an outline used in the hearing. Unfortunately I was speeding on my way home from Alabama while attending the Barber Motorsports Vintage Motorcycle weekend. Due to hurricane Nate, the event closed early for safety reasons. We were riding our motorcycles home and trying to stay ahead of the storm, which was moving very fast for a hur...ricane. My hope was to at least make it to Harrisonburg, VA where my daughter attends James Madison University. That didn't happen as I was stopped while going 83mph in the right lane on interstate 81 in southern VA (70mph zone). That's reckless driving in VA! Amazingly the trucks were doing 75mph and if you ever rode a motorcycle at night, it is not fun being passed by an 18 Wheeler. More so is the danger that the truck driver may not see you. Therefore I tried to stay a little ahead of the trucks since I can control what is in front of me but not what's behind me. I looked up attorneys online and chose Joel Jackson. Best choice I ever made. He advised me to take a driver safety course and also obtain my 10 year driving history, which was fortunately favorable. I did that and also provided additional history of myself to Joel including what I mentioned above. He was able to explain my situation in court and achieved a very successful outcome for me. I highly recommend him. Note that after I contacted his office and agreed to be represented by his firm (in his absence) he contacted me personally to discuss the case. I was charged reckless driving with speed 85/65 on I-81 from Christianburg to Roanoke, VA. I hired Mr. Jackson for my attorney. He is very professional. He gave me three instructions: 1, speedometer calibration 2, 8-hour driving class 3, 5-year driving record. I followed these instructions. My spee...dometer calibration test results are that when the dashboard reads 70 mph, the actual speed is 74 mph. My driving record is clean.
