Thank you Chuck!

Chuck walked me through the best progression for fighting my case. He kept me very informed and even made calls or texts throughout the process. After 18 months my case was overturned all thanks to Chuck, his representation, knowledge, and help.

Program Manager

Chuck will go above and beyond for you! He is the perfect balance between aggressive/empathetic, action-oriented/thoughtful, and knowledgeable/humble. He has my highest possible recommendation! I would give six stars if I could.

Professional Results

After I was denied a security clearance, Mr. McCullough helped my argue my case and point out the flaws in the investigation. Once we submitted, everything was fixed within a matter of a few weeks. I would recommend him to anyone.

Superb advice from a highly experienced attorney

I retained Mr. McCullough to advise me on adjudication of my security clearance. It was vital that I get the best legal counseling, as this issue could result in my clearance being revoked and my career ending. From the start, Mr. McCullough had a direct, personal approach that I did not have with ot...her lawyers I interviewed. He was always available, contacted me regularly and directly, and served as an excellent coach through this process. His decades of experience inside the Federal government provide him valuable insights into the clearance processes. He prepared a stellar written rebuttal, correcting errors and misperceptions to clarify my record. After submitting for review, my clearance was reinstated days later, a perfect result. I could not have asked for a better attorney and highly recommend anyone dealing with a security clearance issue to retain Mr. McCullough’s services.

Stop your search! You've found the top federal administrative law and security clearance attorney in the Washington D.C. area.

If you need legal assistance with an internal investigation, a security clearance issue, or any administrative matter related to your employment with the federal government, stop scouring through endless lawyer reviews and immediately contact I. Charles McCullough, III, or as you'll soon know him, Ch...uck. You will not be disappointed. Chuck developed impeccable credentials and significant industry knowledge during his impressive government career, beginning with 10 years of service as an FBI agent, supervisor, task force lead, Special AUSA, and more. After continuing his service in high-level leadership positions within the NSA and Treasury Department, Chuck made difficult decisions and sparked monumental changes during his tenure as the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community. His expert-level experience on both sides of clearance and employment disagreements -- both in support of the government and in support of employees treated improperly by the government -- allows Chuck to immediately assess the strengths and weaknesses of your case and develop a plan for success. Chuck's extraordinary lifetime achievements, strategic legal acumen, and attention to detail are beyond reproach, but what makes Chuck the best federal administrative law attorney in the Washington, D.C. area isn't his resume or his countless legal successes; It is who he is as a human being. Many attorneys are quick to tell you how they'll go to war for you and your case. Others take the extra step and back up their words with occasional action for obvious effect. Chuck never sold me on how much he cared about my case, my future, or me as a person. He didn't need to. Although eloquent and articulate, Chuck's actions spoke louder than words ever could. In just one of numerous examples, when I was going through a particularly difficult time, Chuck was the first to notice and the first to give it to me straight -- as I always asked him to -- by telling me I needed to "be smart" and truly focus on taking care of myself. So, per my attorney's orders, I forced myself to leave the house and exercise both days that weekend. And Chuck, between providing interviews and quotes for The New York Times, Washington Post, FOX, USA Today, and more, took the time to call me both days to make sure I was doing okay. If you are experiencing problems with your security clearance or government job -- or an issue within any of Compass Rose Legal Group's many practice areas -- you need an attorney, and the attorney you need is I. Charles McCullough, III. Knowing Chuck, in the end, your decision will net you a victory in your case -- and perhaps even a friend.

Administrative law lawyer | Mar 19

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"For many years I oversighted his program at the National Security Agency and then from 2013 to 2017 I worked for Chuck as the first Executive Director, Intelligence Community Whistleblowing & Source Protection (IC-W&SP). He danced circles around the legal analysis of the attorneys assigned to support him; you had to go to his staff meetings prepared and had to be at your best in his presence. He drove good people to their best, and he drove bad people out -- politely, they just could not handle the standards of excellence his role modeling demanded. Excellent counsel; even better judge of character. 5-Start Attorney !"
