Thank you for visiting my AVVO profile. I'm McGavock Reed, an experienced attorney with a focused practice on Attorney Ethics and Disciplinary Matters. It is an honor and a privilege to work and share my expertise with you.
Founder of The McGavock Reed Law Firm:
I founded the Alexandria, Virginia, based McGavock Reed Law Firm to be a resource for clients seeking advice on attorney ethics issues and particular other matters. I provide legal representation to clients in both Virginia and Washington, D.C., with a specif focus on Attorney Ethics matters. I am also well-versed in Trusts, Wills and Estates, and Business Law, and take select Family and Criminal Cases to address the diverse needs of my clients.
A Commitment to Excellence:
My journey as an attorney began at the Office of Bar Counsel (now the office of Disciplinary Counsel) in D.C. while attending Catholic University for my Juris Doctor. During my four years at Bar Counsel both starting as an intern and then continuing as a law clerk, I developed a strong foundation in attorney ethics and a unique understanding of the attorney discipline system. Throughout my career, I've been a passionate scholar, delving into the intricacies of Attorney Ethics and Legal Ethics in general. I've not only practiced in this field but also taken the responsibility to teach various Ethics focused courses at national conferences for such organizations as the Association of Conflict Resolution and the American Bar Association. These classes shed light on operating and practicing law in an ethical and professional manner, helping practitioners understand the fundamental statutes, terminologies, and codes of ethics that form the bedrock of the legal profession.
Upholding Ethical Standards:
The justice system rests on a foundation of moral and ethical principles, and as an attorney, I firmly believe in upholding these values. I am dedicated to ensuring that my fellow legal professionals understand their responsibilities, and to providing experienced counsel to those facing the prospect of a disciplinary prosecution. Lawyers are held to a higher standard, and throughout my career, I've strived to navigate the complexities of Attorney Ethics and Discipline Matter so that I can provide the highest quality counsel to my valued clients.
A DMV Native with Deep Roots:
As a lifelong resident of the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, I have developed a profound understanding of the unique dynamics of our region. My roots in this community have enabled me to build valuable networks that contribute to both my practice and personal life. These connections ensure that the clients I represent receive the strongest defense and advocacy possible, rooted in my deep commitment to their well-being.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my law practice. If you're seeking an attorney of ethical scrupols to be your dedicated advocate, I am here to serve you.
Warm regards,
McGavock Reed
