In addition to his military law and federal sector experience, Greg served as a certified New York State attorney for the child, where he represents children involved in family court litigation.

While on active duty as a JAG, Greg prosecuted and defended over a hundred felony cases with charges ranging from drug possession to murder. Additionally, he was selected to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. In that capacity he prosecuted hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases arising on federal property in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Greg is often called upon by local news organizations to comment on prominent military legal cases. Greg's last active duty assignment was at the Defense Appellate Division in Washington DC where he wrote criminal appellate briefs and argued appeal cases. Greg was honorably discharged from the Army JAG corps in April 2004. Greg was awarded numerous awards from the army upon his discharge to include the Meritorious Service Medal.

Currently Greg’s practice area includes Criminal Defense, Appellate Advocacy, Family Law, and Federal employment litigation. With Great Appreciation !!!
Dear Greg, I wanted to thank you for the tremendous support and legal guidance provided by your firm through our Son's dis-enrollment board and subsequent appeal. From the very first phone call with you, and after several interviews with other military law firms, it was clear that you and your team were truly our best course to arrive at a positive outcome. We had the great pleasure to work with Wayne Roberts who immediately created a strong rapport with my Son and our family. His legal expertise and calming demeanor brought great confidence and reassurance as we navigated through the initial board hearing. Even though we received a favorable recommendation from board, it was not accepted by the PMS nor the Brigade. We were left with one final appeal if we chose to continue the fight to allow our son his dream of obtaining an Army Commission. Our second consultation, you presented the opportunities and hope we could successfully overturn the initial denial and arrive with a recommendation to commission. I am happy to say, I am glad we stayed with it and worked with your team. I am confident your preparation and presentation of all the facts, allowed the careful consideration and ultimate commission by the Department of Army Headquarters. Thank you again for your fairness throughout and great legal representation to arrive at this outcome.

LITERALLY BEST !@#$%^& Money I Ever Spent!
LITERALLY THE BEST !@#$%^& MONEY I EVER SPENT!!!! The USAF charged my son with Article 92, Violate General Order and Article 128, Simple Assault. I spoke to many attorneys who said to me, “Your son will be convicted of the Simple Assault because putting lotion on someone’s face is considered an assault as it is an unwanted touch.” They all wanted me to work on a plea deal with the GOV’T. Knowing that this just didn’t warrant a federal conviction, bad conduct discharge and time in the brig, I was on a search to find an attorney who would look at this case for what it was…a couple of 19-21 year-old immature young men horse playing. I was looking for someone who would say something different, someone who would be able to look at the case from more than one view. When I spoke to Mr. Rinckey, I thought I was going to get the same ole speech, but to my surprise, I IMMEDIATELY felt at ease & I knew right then that he was going to be my attorney (not sure if he knew it at this time). He took on this case with such vigor and ZERO FEAR of the GOV’T! He wanted them to know that this was NOT going to go away with any plea deal! And he went to work! Then, LITERALLY 2 DAYS BEFORE trail the GOV’T added an additional charge, which was Article 134, Unlawful Entry. I was livid, but Mr. Rinckey stayed focused, developed a plan & off to trail we went. He was so prepared. I remember him saying to me, “I am ready to try this case.” And yesterday - 14APR2016- my son was found NOT GUILTY on ALL CHARGES AND SPECIFICATIONS!!! Yesssss!!!! You know, it’s always hard to find money for an attorney, but I learned one thing with this case. Although I thought we couldn’t afford an attorney, the truth of the matter was that we couldn’t afford NOT TO HAVE an attorney. I only wish I had found Mr. Rinckey sooner, but that’s okay….I have found my ATTORNEY for life….again…not sure if he knows that :)

A military client
His "bed side" manner as we say in the medical field is/was outstanding. He provided me with a lot of handholding during my legal problem. I highly recommend him for your legal needs!

Big on Advertising Low on Delivering
Very disturbing is what a super lawyers group said after reviewing my case’s mishandling by Tully Rinckey lawyers. Even so, no responsibility taken by this founding lawyer or his partner. Some of their lawyers working on my case mentioned outside relationships with my agency’s discriminating officials and agency’s lawyers and that is why I would warn folks never to hire any lawyer anywhere with past or current affiliations with federal agencies or the Military. Also, find lawyers who are willing to share statistical success rates to help you make an informed decision. And if they don’t give you clear strategies at the beginning or tell you they don’t have a strategy like one of their lawyers after being assigned my case for two years, run! Run like the wind - you’re better off representing yourself,

Waste of time and money
This firm wasted my time and money. Took a day off of work and promised the world and never got a call back or follow through. Promises, promises and got nothing despite repeated calls and emails.

wouldn't trust him with my case
Horrible, the firm truly lost my case, I don't know why he would treat another human being like he did.
Response from Greg Rinckey September 26, 2016
I wish the client had come to me with their concerns, rather than this forum, as I am committed to providing quality representation and treat each client with the full respect they deserve.
