Mr. Matt Kolken has proven to be the best attorney not only in Buffalo, NY but throughout the nation. While visiting Buffalo with my family I was detained the first day we arrived. As I was being walked down from the plane to catch a bus an ICE agent was shocked and told me, “You have one hell of an attorney, you’re going back to Batavia, NY.” When I arrived back to Batavia Detention Center an agent said, “In all my years at this facility I have never seen an attorney stop a deportation and have his client back to this facility.” Mr. Kolken is a role model and other immigration attorneys need to learn to take risks and really fight for their clients. I am currently awaiting my green card and that in it self is another miracle. Thanks to Mr. Kolken I have been able keep my family united and been a part of my kids upbringing. It has taken a long time to write this review, because it is hard to put into words how grateful we are for Matthew Kolken and his team. As the Thanksgiving holiday has just passed by, we took a moment to reflect on this past year and what we are most thankful for. My husband recently received his ...green card, which he has been battling to get for over 10 years. We hired Matthew and his firm just over 2 years ago, and it is because of their help that my husband is now a permanent legal resident. It was not an easy case for the team, with my husband having a dui, previous marriage, and a denied I-485 application. From the beginning Matthew told us that it would be an uphill battle, but assured us that he would not lose. We hired him after one 30 minute consultation and it was one of the best decisions we have ever made. His paralegal, Mary Jo, was exceptional! With the amount of paperwork required for our case, it would've been easy to miss any number of details, but she did not miss a beat. She knew exactly what we needed and kept everything extremely organized. Whenever we had questions or concerns, she was easy to get a hold of and responded quickly. During the process of submitting our applications, I took a job opportunity in another state forcing us to move, but they continued to work with us throughout the entire process. Even so, Matthew still took the time to thoroughly prep us and put our minds at ease before heading into this nerve-racking step. Two weeks after our interview, before we could even check our own mail, Mary Jo called us with the news that our applications had been approved! This Thanksgiving was different for us than any other. My husband now has a full time job with benefits and health insurance, and we have nothing holding us back from our future. Thankful for Kolken & Kolken would be an understatement.
