I hired Mr. Stomel because of a traffic ticket after reading good reviews in this site. I did not want to plead guilty and wanted him to question the officer in the court. He first told me that the court date is fine and he is available to defend me. He charged me $2000 flat fee and told me that he d...id not have an hourly fee. As soon as I paid him by check, he told me that he has another case that day and he also has a hip surgery that week. He must postpone the case for a while. That was not what I wanted; I thought that was very deceitful. After few hours, I called him the same day and left a message cancelling and also sent him an email in that effect. I did not hear from him so I called him again. He said he did not get my message or the email. Then he told me that he has to charge me but would not tell me how much. Finally I got a letter from him stating that he will charge $900 cancellation fee and only refunded $1100 claiming 3 hours of work at $300 per hour for what I understand is too write a letter to the court representing me. I also did not understand why he charged me $300 per hour as it is very self serving and extremely unreasonable considering the fact that most attorneys only charge $500 for traffic cases.

I recently hired Elliot Stomel to represent me because I got three traffic tickets that I felt I did not deserve. In addition to providing me with excellent representation, Mr. Stomel billed fairly and honestly for his services. I found Mr. Stomel to be extremely professional and thorough from start to finish.
