After being charged with a DUI, I started my lawyer search on Avvo and narrowed my choice down to about 4 or 5 attorneys. Out of all the attorneys I contacted Elliot was the only one I was able to speak with personally, which was a good sign and moved me in his direction right from the start. I... scheduled an appointment and after meeting with him I was very pleased. His fees were well below the quotes I received from the other attorneys and he was upfront and straightforward about what was I was facing and how he intended to handle my case. Further, based on the DUI-related research I had done on my own prior to meeting with him, he was very knowledgeable on the penalties and consequences associated with DUI in New Jersey. But his greatest asset turned out to be the personal relationships he had with the Court personnel in the County where I was being charged. While I do not know the extent of his connections throughout the state of New Jersey, it appears that he has developed many relationships throughout NJ and that he is well-respected by most. Both the Judge and DA knew him well and I could tell there was a positive connection between them. I am sure this played a factor in the outcome I received in my case. My Tier 3 offense essentially became a Tier 1. My BAC (0.15+) was thrown out and I basically received the minimum penalty/fees possible for a DUI in NJ. Throughout the duration of my case, I never spoke or met with anyone but Elliot and he was personally there to meet me in Court both times I had to appear and that in itself is a huge comfort and relief when you hear your name called and you're standing there in front of the Judge. Im quite sure I received the best outcome possible and Elliot made sure to verify that I was certain and confident in the choices I was making throughout the process. Although I have no point of comparison to other DUI lawyers (and I hope I will never have to again), I am completely satisfied with the representation I received from Elliot Stomel and I have no regrets hiring him.

Wow. This man really knows the law. I needed a lawyer and after reading his other reviews on Avvo.com I called to have a consultation. I left a message on his personal number, which was listed, and Elliot called me back within minutes. Not a secretary or receptionist but Elliot himself. After our fir...st conversation I felt completely comfortable with him and I knew I made the right decision. He was very knowledgable and very honest which I appreciated. I can't say that for other lawyers I spoke with. Not only did I feel like when I spoke with him I had his total attention, he always responded back to me every time I reached out to him ensuring all of my questions and concerns were answered. Although my situation was not ideal Elliot was definitely the ideal lawyer. I was very happy with the outcome with my case. Elliot was very professional and just an absoulte pleasure to work with. I would recommend him to anyone!

Elliot was a great attorney to work with. From our initial conversation he was very honest and up front. He gave me the best and worst case scenarios of what was possible in court. I felt his price point was VERY fair compared to what I saw doing my own independent research. In the end, he worked... out a deal with the prosecutor based on what he found (that I would have never been able to do alone in a million years) and got me the minimum possible charges. Take my advice, do yourself a favor, and at least give him a call. You'll feel good about it after you speak with him. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
