More interested in Politics than clients

Marootian was a skilled attorney. However, in my experience his mind was focused primarily towards assuring that his associates were compensated. His actual activity on my case seemed to be guided more by political matters. For example, I paid him to do something; then he said it could not be don...e, but kept the money. The reason why it could not be performed was never explained. I believe it was not performed in order to curry favor.

Thank you for stating that I am a "skilled attorney." I am however, sorry that you felt that your interests were not my paramount concern ... my clients' interests are always my chief concern. It seems that you equated paying with achieving a specific and guaranteed result which is never the case. Unlike other businesses, a lawyer cannot offer a guarantee and I certainly would never offer such an (unethical) assurance. When a client hires me, he/she is relying in my 23 years of specialized knowledge and experience ... to provide prudent counsel and guidance. I have achieved great success in th 23 years I have been in practice, but unfortunately I do not possess super natural skills to make a charge go away or give clients options of picking what the end-result will be. Many of my former clients and colleagues alike hold me up on this pedestal which while flattering, is not realistic. There are times when a client wants something, but that something is either not achievable or it makes more sense to take a different approach and seek a more prudent goal either because it would be financially imprudent or the client would face other adverse consequences. Part of my advice and counsel is to guide my clients based on my years of experience and my specialized practice. I am sorry that you felt that somehow my advice was not properly explained to you. As far as currying favor, I am again, sorry that you believe this to be the case. I am not political at all ... I am fiercely upfront, independent and honest. I am a people oriented lawyer ... this is just my personality. Perhaps you perceived my personality as somehow being political or having some alterior motive which is simply not accurate. Let's be clear, money is not my God ... it is always, for anyone a byproduct (of providing value and service and being passionate about what one does). I started my practice working for poor folks who were ripped off by big companies ... to give power to people who were powerless and provide them with social justice. I took cases that no other lawyer wanted ... that were passed over by many lawyers until they came to me through my local Bar Association. I wish I had more information about the specifics here ... you are welcome to contact my office and I would be happy to address all of your concerns. Again, I am sorry you feel that you were not satisfied, felt that you were not 100 percent important and did not receive adequate explanation of the process in your specific case.
