When I first received notification from LVNV that they were suing me, I was devastated and did not know where to turn. I was embarrassed and was afraid they would contact my employer. After many nights of no sleep, I googled “what to do if sued by debt collector” and I immediately found the information John had posted on their website regarding what a debt collector can and cannot do. There is so much information there! I spoke with John on the phone and realized right away LVNV should not have sued me. After disputing the debt, LVNV had the suit against me dismissed. While this was good….it got GREAT when I talked with John again and he filed suit against LVNV. They should not have sued me in the first place and they should have removed it from my credit report. Because of John, I got a very nice settlement that was VERY unexpected! I not only feel great for having beat LVNV, I also hope that more people will contact John so he can fight back for you and teach these debt collectors to do their research before they jump! I found myself being sued by Midland Credit Management, alledging they were the owner of my credit card debt unpaid balance. Being sued is certainly intimadating and worrisome at best. Living in Maine, I contacted attorney after attorney only to find none interested in taking my case in small claims court. Out of desperation I was forced to defend myself. I researched everywhere and anywhere on the internet, bought books on the subject, contacted online advocates and by the grace of providence came accross John Watts website, Alabama Consumer.Com. While Mr. Watts was unable to provide me legal advise, following his website provided me enough public knowledge to enable me to defeat not one, but two seperate lawsuits from the same junk debt collecter. While not for the faint of heart, defending myself and winning was within my control. If you find yourself being sued in Alabama by a debt collector, call this office first. They will provide the best legal advice money can buy. My only regret is that I do not live in Alabama to hire this lawfirm.

I met John last May after being sued for credit card debt. John represented me against the junk debt buyer and won the case outright. I have since learned about consumer protections in place and continue to exercise my rights. I have collected monies from one collection agency already on FDCPA violations and have two more suits yet to be filed this fall. I had debt collectors calling me over bills that were not mine! The debt collectors had also reported these inaccurate debts to all three collection agencies. Some even tried to sue me! I contacted John and he was instantly willing to help me. He is very knowledge in this area of the law. John Watts helped me with an incident when I was hit by an uninsured motorist. This was a long and trying process which was very stressful to me but in the end we succeeded. I really don't know if I could have come through this without these two guys. I have watched his videos and listened to his teleseminars on various consumer law topics and he has a way of simplifying the law into useful information for those of us who aren't lawyers but who need guidance. When I had questions about Power of Attorney and Living Wills, etc. to help with my aging mother, he took the time to explain things so clearly and point me in the right direction even though that is not the area of law he practices. I think he is truly what lawyers/attorneys were called long ago - "counselor". He explains options, provides guidance and is honest about his ability to help or not. His relaxed and easy manner along with his knowledge puts you immediately at ease in what can otherwise be a very stressful situation.
