She's tough when she needs to be, yet, that human element of warmth and respect is not lost on Ms. Afsous. Divorce

Ms. Afsous was my attorney representing me in my divorce. The thing that I liked most was that she skillfully deescalated issues raised by the opposing party. Divorce is ripe with conflict, and I was thankful that this didn't turn into a huge legal battle (and it could have given how the opposing party just wanted to fight). She understands the law and the divorce ended in as good a place as expected (when do you get everything you want in a divorce?).

Excellent experience

I had Ms. Afsous represent me for my preuptial agreement with a tight deadline. She and her staff were all very helpful, quick to respond and answered any questions I had. Highly recommend!

Great Experience

I have been working with Shirin for more than 1 year working on several issues. Shirin recently helped me with my preliminary protective order (PPO) case. Shirin focused on each and every detail of the case and presented in right way during the trail which resulted in the dismissal of the PPO. This is the third time I have used Shirin's help and the service has been excellent. Shirin Afsous and her paralegal Gia promptly returned all my emails and phone calls. Outstanding Attorney!

Ms. Shirin Afsous expertly navigated my high-stress divorce case that included contentious child custody, visitation, and support matters. I first met with her prior to making the decision to begin divorce proceedings, and even during the initial consultation, Ms. Afsous was thorough, articulate, and offered excellent legal advice. Her poise and calm confidence in her representation of me throughout the case, coupled with her strategic guidance, ultimately led to an agreement outside of trial on all matters, in a case that I never thought settlement outside of court would be an option.

Empathetic Professionalism

This firm has been a trusted advisor for my most personal matters for nearly 2 years. Ms. Shirin Afsous (my attorney) and Ms. Gia Kaur-Sharma (her paralegal) have been the consummate professionals throughout the entire process, without losing touch of the deeply personal nature of the matter they were handling for me. They were always available to answer my seemingly complex legal questions and concerns, and my basic questions about the timing and sequence of processes. They worked with me overseas, on the phone, in person, and in the middle of a pandemic, and I never once felt neglected or that my case wasn't the most important thing they were working on. I always felt like my interests were protected, my risk was minimized, and assured that my intent was being followed in their drafting of documents and advice. It almost felt like I was their only client the way details were always remembered and understood. Military divorce

Ms. Shirin is one amazing and supportive lawyer. She made sure I walked away in the best position as possible. Right after I had my consultation, I knew she was the one who was going to help me get through this divorce successfully. She made sure I got almost everything I wanted from the divorce including spousal support which I didn’t think about or was interested in the beginning (but I am so grateful now that I have it thanks to her). She is honest and tell you like how it is upfront and what to expect. If you listen to her advices, you will walk away satisfied.

Premarital Agreement

Shirin did an excellent job with our premarital agreement. I wish our wedding vendors were as responsive and easy to work with as she was! The process was quick and cost less than I would have guessed.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I highly recommend Shirin as a divorce lawyer or for any type of marital legal issue. She helped me through the Marital Settlement Agreement as well as the final divorce process. I could not have asked for a better attorney. She was understanding, personal, direct, objective, engaged, responsive and had a great attention to detail. All qualities I would want at a time of uncertainty and unknowns. She helped guide me through the divorce process with ease. Julie Colon her paralegal was equally engaged and responsive. She was timely and very detailed in answers to my questions. I was fortunate to have such a great legal team.

Smart, proactive and got results quickly!

As Good as Divorce Gets

I worked with attorney Shirin Afsous and paralegal Julie Colon to complete my divorce. They both did a great job. I always felt as though I understood where we were in the process, whether or not opposing counsel's arguments had merit, and that they were helping me make the best decisions. My natural style in stressful situations is to make jokes. They made me feel very comfortable and seemed to appreciate my attempts at humor. While I hope to never need legal services again, I won't hesitate to call them if I do.

A Wonderful Attorney!

Shirin helped me with my preliminary protective order case. From the very beginning, Shirin was excellent at communicating the state of the law in plain language that I could understand, as well as laying forth a legal strategy. Shirin and her paralegal Julie Colon promptly returned all my emails and phone calls and overall did a great job in communicating with me throughout the case. In the end, she was able to negotiate a settlement that resulted in the dismissal of the protective order. I highly recommend Shirin Afsous if you unfortunately find yourself faced with the prospects of a protective order.

Great Experience

I recently hired Mrs. Afsous to help draft a Premarital Agreement. From the first consultation to delivery of the document I was continuously impressed by her insight on this particular topic, friendly/down to earth nature, and overall work ethic. She offered great advice throughout the process and was always very responsive to emails and phone calls. I highly recommend Mrs. Afsous for any of your family law related needs.

Had consultation

Was not very impressed with her advice - it was not clear. She also looked uncomfortable when asked to explain in detail what she meant. I did not feel confident seeking her services.
