Laila Raheen is the Principal Attorney at Raheen Family Law, P.C., practicing exclusively family law. A fantastic, focused, hard-working divorce lawyer!
Laila Raheen represented me during my divorce, and did a fantastic job of it. I started with another lawyer at the same firm, and when she departed I was lucky enough to have my case transferred to Ms. Raheen. She took great care to understand my situation and my desire to work out a reasonable settlement without being adversarial. She was always available when I needed to communicate with her, and explained things in detail when I needed to understand them clearly. She negotiated skillfully with my wife's lawyer, who attempted to bully and bluff on too many occasions, and by her hard work we were able to settle without going to court, resulting in an agreement that was to my advantage, without being harsh or unfair to my now ex-wife. At all times, I felt like she was working for my best interests, in comparison to my wife's lawyer, who often seemed to be steering his client in such a way as to maximize his billable hours. In addition to doing a great job, Ms. Raheen was very pleasant, personable, and easy to work with. In all this, she was ably assisted by her associate Jenny Huchler, and her paralegal Taryn Arp, both of whom were dedicated, skilled, and always on top of things. In fact, I was very impressed by the culture of the firm (Livesay & Myers), since all the attorneys I met there seemed to support each other in their work and take the responsibility of mentoring junior associates very seriously. I would wholeheartedly recommend Laila and her firm for any work that needs doing.

Finally Divorced!
I came to Laila after leaving another law firm. I had spend a large amount of money and wasn’t a quarter of the way through my divorce. Laila listened to me and made her recommendations to fit my requests. She kept me informed and used my resources wisely. I definitely would recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable attorney.

Excellent Family Law Attorney
I initially retained Attorney Raheen to represent me in what I thought would be an uncontested divorce. Unfortunately this quickly became a contested divorce and ultimately ended in an annulment. Throughout the entire process, Attorney Raheen was not only thorough but also experienced and knowledgeable. She always made sure that I understood what was happening throughout my case, and there’s no way I would have gotten through the past year without her on my side.

I hired attorney Laila Raheen, to represent me in my recent divorce and I am pleased with my selection of Ms. Raheen and Livesay & Myers. My first meeting with Ms. Raheen was in the office and it put my mind at ease, and confirmed that I was making the right decision by proceeding with the divorce. She is extremely professional and explained the process to me in a very straightforward way. Most of the paperwork required was sent and received via email and communication was responsive, intelligent, and helpful. I also worked with paralegal, Ms. Taryn Arp, who was very organized and kept the process moving forward. Once all paperwork was in, the process moved extremely quickly. I was expecting to receive a court date months after submitting paperwork, but instead I received an email very soon after stating my divorce had been finalized. I was quite pleasantly surprised at how simple and fast it was completed. Now, it could be that because we are in a pandemic, and my case was simple (childfree and assets already separated) that it was accelerated, I am not sure. Another benefit was that the costs were reasonable, and invoices were itemized in 10-minute increments, so the process was open and transparent (you will not be overcharged). In all, I would highly recommend Laila Raheen to anyone looking for a fair, professional, responsive, and efficient attorney with expert guidance.

Knowledgeable Attorney that Fights for You

Look no further if you’re searching for the best in a divorce attorney! I found Laila Raheen at Livesay & Myers via previous reviews. Ms. Raheen, and paralegal Taryn Arp, made the best team in dealing with a prolonged and difficult divorce. Every aspect of my case was handled professionally and efficiently. For over a year, Ms. Raheen and Ms. Arp always made me feel they understood my case, had an absolute grasp on Virginia law, and worked hard to focus on my best interest in the outcome… always with a sense of fairness and reality in mind. Best Divorce Lawyer
Laila Raheen was the lawyer who handled my divorce case at Livesay & Myers. My first meeting with her was my initial consultation regarding my case. She explained what the divorce process in Virginia involved, as well as allowed me to ask questions regarding my case. I came out of that first meeting having a very good feeling about her and decided to hire her that day. I liked that she was professional, very smart and not easily shaken by events or circumstances, just the lawyer I wanted! She clearly explained the divorce process and was very patient with me, as well as all of my questions. Laila explained things to me in terms that I could understand, as a person without a legal background. She was also very responsive to my emails/calls, always responding within a day or two. She also did a great job communicating with opposing counsel and worked through all of the nonsense to focus on the end goal, my divorce. Another important factor about my experience with Livesay & Myers was the billing. I felt like the expenses for my case were fair and reasonable. When I received my monthly bills it was clear what had been worked on and how much I was charged, that really put my mind at ease. To sum up my review, I have nothing but positive things to say about Laila Raheen, as well as the entire staff at Livesay & Myers. If you find yourself facing a divorce I highly recommend hiring this firm and Laila Raheen in particular, she is the best of the best!

Successful Late Life Divorce from Military Retiree
I can honestly say that working with Livesay and Myers has been a wonderful experience. My attorney, Ms. Laila Raheen and her paralegals, Ms. Arp, Ms. Brennan and Ms. Stanley, were highly professional and exceedingly communicative. Demise of Marriage
Livesay & Myers have been working my case for over 2 ½ to 3 years as it was very complex and due to reconciliation a few times. I went through 4 Lawyers and Laila was last, best and bought this painful process to an end. In the very last phase, she was Lawyer, Mediator, Judge and Jury and all was very necessary. All know the last phase of Divorce is taxing and I did not know how things would end; therefore, depended on her expertise and she came through. She also assisted with Quitclaim Deed on Virginia Properties and Name Change. She’s a very kind, well-spoken person and I thought she was like a Chihuahua; however, during mediation, I saw her become Pit Bull, all warranted. I had nothing left to give and she nor her paralegal GiGi wavered in effort to bring this Divorce to an end. Incredible Initiative
As a petitioner in a somewhat complicated international divorce process, my legal team in England needed to know the status of a court order which I was led to believe was still in effect, after nearly 20 years. Laila and her team not only found out the status of the court order, but took the initiative to do some additional research, which made all the difference to my case. Ms. Laila Raheen and Ms. Margaret Stanley handled my divorce case for the past year. They were both incredibly professional and very kind. Although I was going through a very painful time in my life they worked with me through it and helped me resolve my case in the easiest way possible.
