A Trustworthy Lawyer!

I was very lucky to get Alisa as my lawyer for my divorce case. It's hard to find a lawyer that you can trust and to look out for your best interests. She understood my position and limitations and worked really hard on my case. She is an effective communicator and a smart lawyer that stayed on top of everything. Divorce affects everyone differently and for me it was really difficult emotionally and mentally so I felt safe and protected with her. Having talked to quite a few other lawyers previously and working with another lawyer before her, I could tell that she actually cared about her clients. She's become more that just my lawyer and if I were to be in a situation where I need legal help in the future (hopefully that won't happen!) she would be the first person I'd turn to. Alisa understands that the divorce is one of the most difficult experiences clients will face. Alisa has been a practicing attorney since 2007. She started her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Marcus D. Williams (Ret.) of the Fairfax County Circuit Court, 19th Judicial Circuit of Virginia. During her clerkship, she had the opportunity to frequently observe trials and motions and assist her judge in determining the best legal ruling for litigants. She went on to become a government enforcement attorney for the United States Department of Transportation, and then an associate at Norton Rose Fulbright, LLP, one of the top five largest national law firms and top 20 highest grossing global law firms. Alisa left Norton Rose Fullbright to exclusively practice domestic relations law at another law firm in Fairfax, Virginia before joining NOVA Legal Professionals in 2020.

Alisa is a Virginia native and graduate of James Madison University, and received her Juris Doctor from Catholic University, Columbus School of Law. She lives with her children and dog in Northern Virginia. In her free time, she enjoys trying new recipes and traveling.

Truly an Angel

I have had an excruciating custody battle going on over several states and was at wit's end when I met Alisa. She is truly an angel. She is one of 5 attorneys I've hired for this process and she is by far the best. Alisa specifically and Livesay & Myers as a whole are extremely professional, prompt, and reliable - things you truly want and need when going through court, especially when your children are at stake. Alisa is a mother as well, which I believe gives her the extra empathy that a parent wants when they are being dragged through court processes. My son is the absolute most important person in the world to me and I am forever grateful that I had Alisa's support during this, my most traumatic time. Great Family Law Attorney.

Alisa Chunephisal is a personable and professional attorney that helped guide me through a messy child support case (paternal). What's most impressive, is that Alisa did not draw out my case for a more profitable gain. She is very cognizant of the cost/risk/reward for her clients which I greatly appreciated, as I do not have a-lot of experience traversing the family law space. Divorce case

Alisa had my trust from day one before anything even started, and before I had even hired her. She was the only lawyer that had responded with any sort of empathy for my situation, and clearly understood the emotional burden of the whole case. While my case wasn't super complex or anything, it did end up dragging out due to the other party. Alisa was absolutely incredible throughout the whole ordeal and a pleasure to work with. Our legal system can definitely be complex, but she made my life and my efforts as easy as they could be. She was always super responsive, and answered all of my random one off questions, even late in the evening. She was always so professional and patient anytime her and I had to do anything, and always knew when to bring in some lightheartedness to keep me going. If there is ever any legal issue that comes my way that falls in her lane in the future, there isn't any other lawyer out there I'd trust with such a situation.

Competent and Ready!

If you're looking for an attorney who is competent and ready to go to battle on your behalf, then Alisa is your girl! Before I began the divorce process, I was terrified about the cost and to be clear divorce is not cheap at all. However Alisa was excellent about being practical in what I was asking for and not taking advantage of me being emotionally charged at various stages throughout the process, thus saving me a lot more trouble and money. She never talked me out of anything per se, but she really laid out the pros and cons of my options so I could think clearly about them. Either way, I always knew that there was no way she would allow my ex and his counsel to railroad me, she was always ready to fight on my behalf, but luckily we didn't have to do too much of that.

Wish I Had Found Her Sooner

It took 20mins to get married and 2.5yrs to get divorced. Divorce is complex, unfair and scary among other things. But most of all, it is worth it. Alisa was my beacon of hope through my entire ordeal. She was able to make the complex a little simpler, the unfair seem manageable and kept the scary parts under control. I am forever grateful for the legal counsel that Alisa provided.

Look no further - you've found the right person for the job!!!!

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about Alisa. We found ourselves in a difficult situation and needed to update our custody agreement. We had spoken to several lawyers before meeting with her, and we knew that we would hire her before our initial conversation was over. Throughout our entire case, Alisa made us feel like we were her priority and her passion and dedication were clear. She demonstrated a full complement of skills not just as a lawyer, but as a trusted confidant. We were highly impressed with her level of communication, level of experience, knowledge of the law, preparation and attention to the details.
