dward knows the system back and forth, but it felt like he's been doing this for too long and lost his touch of taking care of each client as a person. He barely displayed any empathy, except a single time that I can remember. He was often annoyed talking with anyone because he is so impatient, and ...mostly kept telling me that he was doing a great job and I should be happy with the outcome. Of course, he did get me a plea bargain that was a lesser one than the ridiculous things I was charged with, but it didn't seem like he got me the best terms possible for that verdict (the terms of probation were quite bad, while he told me they were no big deal and never discussed them with me as part of the proposed settlement). So, it could have been worse, he did do work, but he was not good at communicating the work he did do and generally didn't seem to care about any details because he always knew better. That was very frustrating & vexing, and in the end, I don't think he got the best outcome he could have. I definitely felt like nothing more than a number, and I'm sure things could have been better if he had been a better communicator.

I was faced with a domestic violence felony charge that, if convicted, could send me to prison/jail for up to a 12 months. Due to the complexity of my case and the biased nature of my domestic violence case, I was worried and felt hopeless. Mr. Ajlouny is a pitbull -- tenacious, ferocious. I'm glad he works for the defense and not the prosecution. I hired Mr. Ajlouny to represent my boyfriend who was arrested for a probation violation. He faced two to five years in prison and the probation office was intent on getting that sentence. My... boyfriend was an addict, not a criminal. We knew that going to San Quentin was tantamount to a death sentence. So we hired Ed Ajlouny. Mr. Ajlouny charged a $3500 flat fee to represent him at all the hearings. It was a fair fee. Mr. Ajlouny researched alternatives to recommend to the judge that would be more in line with my boyfriend's violation. Ed called me up on a Saturday after having spent the day thinking, researching precedents, and preparing arguments to provide to the DA and the judge. Ed was available every day -- at any time as long as he wasn't in court. I hired him on a Sunday at 5 pm! Mr Ajlouny consulted me, and consoled my boyfriend. He was fantastic in court. As a former prosecutor, he knew his way through the District Attorney's processes. Yet, he did not set false expectations for us.
