About me

Marty King has been a local sports figure in Santa Clara County since his graduation from Bellarmine Prep in 1974, where he earned a baseball scholarship to the University of Santa Clara.  Following the 1974 football season where he played as a running back, scoring a touchdown against UNLV, he transferred to West Valley College where he gained All-State and Honorable Mention All-American honors.

He was awarded a football scholarship to the University of Southern California, where he was a two-year starter for the eventual Rose Bowl and National Champions in 1978, earning First Team All-Pac 10 honors and Honorable Mention All-West Coast.  Marty entered the National Football League and spent time with the San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Returning to the Bay Area, he began his law enforcement career which spanned nearly seventeen years where he worked undercover narcotics, gang enforcement, traffic, training and special enforcement operations, while earning his undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco.  During his many cases, he was qualified and testified as an expert witness in narcotics and gang identification and operation.  Marty then entered law school and graduated with honors, being named Outstanding Graduate of his class.

Focusing on criminal law, he assists clients in Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito Counties.  Marty is a mentor attorney for the Santa Clara County Bar Association, aiding new attorneys in the practice of criminal law and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Lincoln Law School, where he teaches the Laws of Evidence.  Additionally, he is a guest lecturer at the College of Notre Dame and has presented for the California Association of Toxicologists, Independent Defense Counsel Office and numerous other professional organizations.
