Not a good experience.
Seemed to have a lot on his plate. Forgot things we discussed frequently and didn't follow-up in writing. Difficult to have a phone conversation; you get talked over a lot. Working with basic technology was difficult. The day before my hearing, I received less than 24 hours notice that he wasn't goin...
1) I do have a lot on my plate. 2) I didn't frequently forget things we discussed. I often have clients go over events more than once, as this can help jog their memory regarding important details. I can see how this might try someone's patience, but it's often part of the job. 3) Sometimes I followed up in writing. Sometimes I did not. Not every aspect of the attorney-client relationship requires written follow-up with the client. 4) I did talk over this client a few times. I am not free to explain in detail why I found this necessary. 5) I'm no tech guru. but I work just fine with basic technology. I prefer not to use text messages with clients and I prefer stand-alone emailed attachments to clients sending me zip drives. I hope that's OK with you. If not, no hard feelings. And, if you're old school, I have a fax. 6) At the time I told this client I was not going to the hearing, I was no longer under any obligation to attend the hearing. And the client had not originally hired me for the purpose of representing them at this hearing. 7) I did indeed disengage from this client.

Super Jacob!
This guy Jacob is the MAN! I called him in regards to a small employment issue where i was terminated without being paid my cleared expenses. He left me in the lurch
I had retained attorney Sider due to harassment at my job. It was a difficult situation and I reluctantly decided that I was not ready to leave my job without a new job and that it would be difficult for me to negotiate a severance agreement at that time. About two weeks later, I found out I was ...
This former client of mine is not telling the truth here. I can't go into too much detail, due to the confidential nature of our communications. Without going into specific communications, this client actually discharged ME, not the other way around. When you discharge an attorney, the attorney does owe you some ongoing duties, but, for the good of both the client and the attorney, it is important to have clear communication that the representation has closed. At the time of the "curt email", this person was no longer my client - as a result of their own decision. An attorney who reminds you that they no longer represent you is not leaving you "in the lurch." I am sorry that this person lost their rental home. I can see how the stress of such difficult circumstances might cause a person to lash out at the nearest and easiest target. I hope they landed on their feet.

Rockstar--and brilliant
Jacob gave me clear, logical and easy to understand information about my situation. I was a little anxious when I called him, and he helped me calm down. I needed an ally as much or more than I needed a win, and his skills in relationship building are exceptional. While there are never guarantees ab...
