I contracted with this attorney for a severance negotiation. After saying he could complete my letter in an hour, he ghosted me for several days. When I asked for status of case he informed me in a very cutting and callous way that after review of the communications that I basically had no case, he ...wouldn't be able to get me much more money than offered and that nothing I could tell him would change his opinion of the documentation provided. So this is an attorney that contracts with a client and then refuses to listen to them for even one second. Then after this horrible one-sided conversation he much later sends a CYA email that was much softer and not quite in line with the verbal conversation he had with me. If his intention was to destroy all hope and get me to give up the matter so he didn't have to waste any more of his time on me, he succeeded. Dude, just review people's documents before agreeing to a case if it's an issue instead of getting people's hopes up and thinking they have an advocate that cares. It's sad that an employment lawyer representing employees would treat a client this way, considering all the trauma and financial and mental harm that has already been inflicted on the employee (hence why they are seeking a lawyer). Just another violation of trust and as usual, the little people get outsmarted by not just the big companies, but the lawyers every time. Bad experience.

This man called me back at like 9PM to give me a full blown consultation and get a timeline. I was driving my SUV around town with my screaming kids and he was so , so very patient. Mr. Sider took my case on a contingency fee because the case has merit, and he seems to be working at a lightning fast... pace. I do believe we are set to drop the bomb on my employer by the end of the week, give or take. That's a three-day turnaround time. Results are never guaranteed but I genuinely feel, this guy's going to make them pay and give them hell. Communicating with me is difficult. I have this wonderful disabling condition known as manic depression. It kind of shows in my written communications, during stressful times. Who wants to have a situation whereas we need to talk to someone and share some "messy" personal stuff? None of us. Yet I needed to do it for myself and my family about a legal issue. Jacob took enough time for me to tell him our situation, which is not great right now. Why else do you call a lawyer?... To be blunt and honest, Jacob allowed me to tell him enough. He's smart and he's heard a lot of people's stories. I felt satisfied that I got enough out, and then he came back to me with his ideas and suggestions. They were right on. I think I must have signed ten times during the call while now listening to him as what he said not only made sense, but his care was truly there and he truly offered his heart and mind which is so much what we needed. I needed to hear what he said, and he said it well. You know, it's what you put out to a professional. They can't read our minds.
