Jacob William Sider

I contracted with this attorney for a severance negotiation. After saying he could complete my letter in an hour, he ghosted me for several days. When I asked for status of case he informed me in a very cutting and callous way that after review of the communications that I basically had no case, he ...wouldn't be able to get me much more money than offered and that nothing I could tell him would change his opinion of the documentation provided. So this is an attorney that contracts with a client and then refuses to listen to them for even one second. Then after this horrible one-sided conversation he much later sends a CYA email that was much softer and not quite in line with the verbal conversation he had with me. If his intention was to destroy all hope and get me to give up the matter so he didn't have to waste any more of his time on me, he succeeded. Dude, just review people's documents before agreeing to a case if it's an issue instead of getting people's hopes up and thinking they have an advocate that cares. It's sad that an employment lawyer representing employees would treat a client this way, considering all the trauma and financial and mental harm that has already been inflicted on the employee (hence why they are seeking a lawyer). Just another violation of trust and as usual, the little people get outsmarted by not just the big companies, but the lawyers every time. Bad experience.

I was concerned about hiring a lawyer, however I was referred to Mr. Sider. He is direct, to the point, took the time to learn the issue and explained everything in terms I could understand. In my experiences, lawyers spend a lot of time in the beginning, then you receive one word, vastly delayed res...ponses once hired. Jacob always responded to me, kept me updated on where we were at every point in time, and constantly coached me on expectations. He's a great negotiator, organized and trustworthy. Though I don't think I'll be in this situation again, I would hire him in a second if needed. I'll definitely refer him if anyone I know needs help fighting the good fight.

I had a consultation and briefly hired Jacob, but I found that he had rigidly held beliefs and spoke patronizingly to me even though I have also attended a good law school. I had an employment issue, and he didn't try very hard to see my point of view or find legal basis to support my case. ("I know ...the law better than you do!") He didn't seem to be in my corner or to show the promise of "zealous representation." He snapped up my case on the first phone call but later backed off on what he promised to do. I found a couple other lawyers who were fully in my corner and followed through with all the issues in the case, so I broke off with Sider and hired one of them instead.
