I don't know how this guy got such good reviews. Basically he told me there would be a chance and when I finally got to the pre trial I plead guilty to a DUI. At the DMV hearing he basically told me to give up. I probably spoke to him twice in my life once when he took my $2500 and second when he tol...d me I was getting a DUI. Never did he give me a status update or tell me how my case was coming along. I think the first time he even looked at my case was at the pre trial. STAY AWAY YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Mr. Drewry is an assertive and exuberant attorney. He is extremely competent and has attained a number of court connections through his many years of service. At the same time, he will not sugar-coat your case. He will always tell it as it is. Drewry is grounded and likes to focus on the facts, a...nd not on hopes and desires. I was tried for a .14 blood-alcohol level. I never took a pre breathalyzer, but I did give a field sobriety test and a blood test. Drewry told me not to worry about the field sobriety test, since they made me take the exam on a steep slope. When Drewry asked the court for the blood test (so that it could be re-examined), my case went into review. Due to special circumstances, criminal charges were never filed against me and the case was dropped after 12 months. Drewry kept me calm and informed throughout the ordeal, and seemed ready to go to trial at a moment’s notice with a box full of documents relating to me. Unlike some attorneys who charge you a large, flat fee for both pre-trial and trial (even if your case does not make it to trial), Drewry will charge you separately for pre-trial and trial expenses. Let's face it, we've all driven home a little buzzed and we know we weren't supposed to. Most of us have gotten away with it more than once. If you're like me and you're reading this review, your luck ran out. I am normally great about not drinking and driving. In fact, the night I got arrested, ...I felt that I waited long enough after drinking to go home. Boy was I wrong. The CHP pulled me over for speeding and suspected that I had been drinking as well. After all the field sobriety tests, the CHP officer arrested me for driving under the influence of alcohol. I opted for a blood test and the results came out to a .11. For those that know, there's really nothing you can do with a .11 result. Unless you had a lawyer of course. My Drewry was able to retest the blood and even though it still came back .10, he found there were discrepancies in the blood sample which allowed the DA to downgrade my DUI conviction to a Wet Reckless. This not only saves you money on fines, but community service time, and also since I was pulled over in Alameda county, I would have had to put an Ignition Interlock Device in my car, even thought it is my first offense. He worked really hard for me and was willing to answer any questions I had for him. He also explained everything in great detail to make sure I knew what I was getting into. Chances are if you are reading this you've been pulled over and cited with a DUI, you most likely spent the night in jail with people that you would NEVER socialize with and when you were released carrying your little plastic bag of belongings, your mind was focused on how you this big mistake is goi...ng to effect you and your loved ones. When I got home that morning I was considering just going to my court date, pleading guilty and taking my punishment. After all, I knew that what I had done was wrong and it was very unlikely for me to get off the hook. I thought to myself, why even bother spending the money for an attorney? I got on the internet and started looking up the consequences of a DUI. I knew there were legal implications involved in this but, there's way more than that to it. People look at Drunk Drivers like the scum of the earth, that we are all losers, addicts and non-productive members of society. I certainly felt like I didn't meet that profile because I'm a man who is hard working, my peers look up to me and my friends as well as family love me, but society wants you to be convicted and harshly punished, no matter what your story is or how good of a person you are. I felt like all of the above wasn't me, I know that I am a good man who made a mistake and I would like to move forward, learning my lesson of course. I decided to call different attorneys, I got different answers and some strong/aggressive sales pitches. I met with Mr. Drewry in his office for close to an hour. We went over the details of my case and what could be done. He was realistic and objective, no upselling or false promises, just the facts and how they will most likely play out. After our conversation I was convinced he was my best option because of the confidence he instilled in me that he would do everything possible to make sure my process was done fairly. We went to court a few times, he also appeared on my behalf a few times as well (He knows you probably have to work, if you don't need to be there he will let you know). After seeing the way the Public Defender system works, it made me sick to my stomach. I sat in court, I saw the heads roll of countless individuals. Their fate decided in minutes, no consideration whatsoever to what they have going on in their lives, some of them probably the heads of households, the fines and penalties will impose a huge burden on their family and cause some serious financial problems. I sat quietly thinking to myself of how glad I was when I acquired Mr. Drewry's services. The Public Defender basically sits down with you for about 15mins, reads over your file and explains very briefly what they think you should do (Which is give up). 15 minutes is very little time considering that this process takes quite a while (Close to 5 months for me), not to mention you want someone to dedicate the time to dissect your case and make sure that proper procedure was followed by everyone when you were pulled over and arrested (Sometimes errors can get your case dismissed). Public Defenders handle huge caseloads and can't dedicate the right time to you, they don't really put up a fight at all, if they can get you off their plate fast then they will. Mr. Drewry did a great job communicating with me throughout the whole process. Obviously, he didn't call me everyday to see how my day was and if I liked my lunch. He communicates mainly through mail (Which is good, it's very formal and you can keep records) and if you have a question you can always call his office. He even explains to you upfront how he works. On the date of my last court appearance, I walked into the Courthouse expecting the worst. I saw Mr. Drewry outside of the Courtroom and he explained that he was approached with a proposition by the DA and considering the circumstances, this was my best option. I was pleasantly surprised, he went to bat for me and got my charges reduced and the fines, as well as my First offender class. He had some extra time and stuck around after everything was over to make sure my paperwork was correct and
