Donald Gray Drewry

In my opinion, Donald G. Drewry is the best DUI criminal defense attorney in California! I have been a client of Donald's since 2011. I am also an attorney, but I do not practice criminal law. In 2011, after much research and consideration, I hired Donald for my 2nd DUI. I pled 'no contest' and, ...through his skill and intimate knowledge of the criminal justice system, I received only 30 days of house arrest (in addition to the standard fines and DUI classes). I was arrested again in 2014 for a DUI. This would have been my 3rd DUI. I immediately hired Donald. Donald's professionalism and client service are second to none. His office answered all of my questions and kept me informed throughout the entire process. My DMV hearing on this 3rd DUI took place in July 2015. Much to my delight, Donald WON MY DMV HEARING, arguing that there was insufficient evidence. As a result, I kept my license with no restrictions! My first appearance for my DUI case was also in July 2015, at which time I was fitted with a SCRAM alcohol ankle monitor. My court date was set for October 2015. After informing me of his plan to fight the DUI, with which I concurred, in October Donald filed a Motion to Suppress Evidence. The motion hearing took place recently. At the hearing, Donald argued that the evidence obtained was pursuant to an unlawful stop, i.e. that the officer lacked probable cause, and the Judge agreed. As a result of filing that motion, the prosecution right then and there at the hearing DISMISSED ALL CHARGES against me, which included the DUI and a probation violation!!! To say I was elated is putting it mildly. I am still, even now as I write this, somewhat in shock at the result. I left the courthouse with my dismissal paperwork and walked to the Sheriff's department where my Probation Officer, to whom I had been reporting twice a week for 6 months to have my SCRAM monitor read, removed my monitor. I am so incredibly grateful that I chose to hire Donald as my attorney. I would (and have) recommend him to anyone who is facing a DUI charge. His flat-fee is very reasonable. His office is exceptional with client contact and kept me thoroughly informed. I now have over a year in recovery, and finally with this behind me, feel that I can move forward. I was charged with my second DUI and I am so glad I found Mr. Drewry because I was not completely satisfied with my representation last time around. Two years ago I was pulled over for what i thought would be a speeding ticket, but ended up with a DUI (supposedly I blew a .13, but I still don't believe it!), and had the pleasure of spending a "luxurious" night in the Oakland City (Spa) Jail. I have learned my lesson well: I absolutely DO NOT drink and drive, even if it is a few beers as it was that night.
