  • Consultation with Ron Bamieh

I had a free consultation with Ron Bamieh recently on a criminal case that I am facing. Unlike some other lawyers I had also consulted with, Ron seemed to have all the right answers and made me feel like he would put in the work necessary to defend me. He spent a considerable amount of time with me and answered every question I had. I feel extremely confident in his abilities and plan to retain him as counsel shortly. I felt he was honest and didn't try to "sell" me on anything. If you are going through any legal trouble, Ron would be a great resource.

Mr. Bamieh has been there for me on four separate issues. My divorce, defense for my son, a personal issue, and custody related issues. Two of which I hired him and was pleased. On one occasion Ron was there for me for a consultation. I explained my situation, he listened and gave me recommendations in the direction which I should take. Ron was honest to advise me that I didn't need his representation for the custody issue. It was in my favor. I appreciated that he took the time to meet with me. I have recommended Ron to my friends as well.

  • Unhappy Client with DUI Case and DMV Hearings

I had heard good things about Mr. Bamieh and Chad Erickson so I signed the retainer agreement with Anzac Jacobs (another attorney at that firm) and paid the $5,000.00 fee upfront for a DUI case in Ventura. I was as honest as possible when it came to what had happened the night of my arrest, and there were several additional charges incurred that night. I made sure that Mr Jacobs knew all of the facts of my case during the consultation, so I was very surprised when Anzac received the police report and basically told me there was nothing he could do for me.

I was told to find a new job and prepare for my entire life to change before the DA had actually filed any charges. I hired a different lawyer before my next DMV hearing in the hopes that at least they would try to find a defense for me and attempt to beat the refusal.

Because I did not feel we were a good fit and I felt forced to find different representation, I tried to get a least a partial return of the fees I had paid to Mr. Bamieh's office, minus any of the work they had done to extend my DMV hearing, per my request, and was refused any refund at all so I will have to go through fee arbitration with the Ventura County Bar Association.

If you want to pay a lawyer $5,000.00 to tell you, "You are screwed, there is nothing I can do," which is word for word what I was told, these are the lawyers for you.

Ron S Bamieh’s response: “This woman hired us for what she told us was a DUI case. It turned out she was driving blood alcohol level above a .20, and was involved in a violent confrontation with the police when they attempted to arrest her. She was alleged by several officers to have assaulted one officer by kicking him in the stomach, and it was allegedly that she had to be peppered sprayed because she had kicked out the windows of the police vehicle causing over $400 in damage to the car. Our office after reviewing reports submitted by officers, receiving her blood alcohol results from the Ventura county crime lab, interviewing the only witness besides the police officers, and going to the location of her arrest, advised her on the likely consequences of her alleged behavior. She became angry when we told we had formed an opinion that was inconsistent with exoneration for her offenses and advised her of the foreseeable and predictable consequences of her behavior. Any competent and honest lawyer would advise a client of the most likely consequence of their behavior, and any lawyer who knew their job well and was privy to the information in the police reports, the witness statements, and the physical evidence would have been ignoring their duty by not informing their client of the reality of their case. Sometimes the best option for the client, when the evidence is overwhelmingly against them, is for the lawyer to continue to work on their defense and also begin to attempt to mitigate the charges or sentence. The most likely outcome of her case is clear, and it was our duty as her lawyer to inform her of that opinion and protect her as best we could. When my office informed her of our opinion she became upset and asked for her money back. She hired us to review her case, provide our assessment of the best defense, and give her our opinions. She is seeking to take advantage of all of work we did and not pay for it, and common sense tells most people just because you disagree with the legal opinion you paid for does not entitle you to a refund. Our promise is to be honest with clients and not to mislead. It is not to guarantee any result. We wish her well and we hope for the best for her, but we stand by our advice and our concern for her future remains.”

Ron Bamieh and Danielle Smith took my case and they were both good at keep contact with me during the duration of the case. Ron always emailed me back so quickly reassuring any questions I had at any time. Danielle Smith who helped with the case was good at keeping me calm when I had my little freak out moments. All in all everything they said would happen happened. There were no surprises or disappointments.

Ron Bamieh was the criminal defense attorney that my husband and I chose to defend him over some very serious charges . Ron was very forthcoming in what we should expect should we go to trial and the probable outcome . He was very thorough, a difficult adversary against the state , and we were altogether pleased with his knowledge and presentation of the case .

For any criminal charge Ron Bamiehs indepth knowledge of criminal law is unsurpassed . I observed him on my own case desimate the prosecutor in the opening five minutes. The prosecutor overly stated facts he claimed were on the record but were not after it was examined . He then went on to totally pick apart their supposed victim who now has became our best witness for the case. The man knows the law in the back of his head like a inborn compass. If you want to win go with Ron hands down!

We had a complicated case against a large company. We were not successful and perhaps a closer look at the facts and the law would have been a cause for pause. It was a costly learning experience.
