I had heard good things about Mr. Bamieh and Chad Erickson so I signed the retainer agreement with Anzac Jacobs (another attorney at that firm) and paid the $5,000.00 fee upfront for a DUI case in Ventura. I was as honest as possible when it came to what had happened the night of my arrest, and ther...e were several additional charges incurred that night. I made sure that Mr Jacobs knew all of the facts of my case during the consultation, so I was very surprised when Anzac received the police report and basically told me there was nothing he could do for me. I was told to find a new job and prepare for my entire life to change before the DA had actually filed any charges. I hired a different lawyer before my next DMV hearing in the hopes that at least they would try to find a defense for me and attempt to beat the refusal. Because I did not feel we were a good fit and I felt forced to find different representation, I tried to get a least a partial return of the fees I had paid to Mr. Bamieh's office, minus any of the work they had done to extend my DMV hearing, per my request, and was refused any refund at all so I will have to go through fee arbitration with the Ventura County Bar Association. If you want to pay a lawyer $5,000.00 to tell you, "You are screwed, there is nothing I can do," which is word for word what I was told, these are the lawyers for you.
