Born and raised in Arizona, I developed an appreciation for the legal profession at an early age. What has always drawn me to the practice of law is its competitive nature, the intellectual challenge of solving complex problems, and the opportunity to advocate for others. Criminal defense, in particular, demands critical thinking, preparation, and perseverance. There is no greater professional satisfaction than achieving a positive outcome for a client and knowing they appreciate the dedication and hard work invested in their case.
Outside the courtroom, I spent much of my life officiating youth and high school athletics. I officiated football for 29 years and baseball and basketball for 15 years. While the growing demands of my legal practice led me to step away from baseball and basketball, I continued officiating football until 2019. After sustaining three knee injuries during my final five seasons, I decided it was time to retire. Those years taught me invaluable lessons about discipline, teamwork, fairness, and making sound decisions under pressure; qualities that continue to serve me well as an attorney.
I enjoy challenging myself in new ways outside of work. I've taken up practicing magic; not because I'm particularly good at it yet, but because I enjoy learning new skills and entertaining family and friends. More recently, I've also developed an interest in billiards, appreciating both its strategic elements and the opportunity it provides to unwind.
Maintaining both physical and mental health has become increasingly important to me. I work out most days and enjoy setting personal fitness goals that push me beyond my comfort zone. One of my recent challenges was completing 100 burpees every day for 30 consecutive days. Although I had very little experience with burpees beforehand; and they were far more difficult than I anticipated. The experience reinforced the value of consistency and perseverance. They remain a regular part of my fitness routine today.
Lifelong learning is another personal priority. I am an avid reader and continually seek opportunities to expand my knowledge, both professionally and personally. Since August 2021, I have also written and published a daily motivational email for a growing community of subscribers. What began as a personal commitment to maintaining a positive mindset during a challenging period has evolved into an opportunity to encourage and inspire others each day.
I've always been competitive, regardless of the activity. Whether in the courtroom, on the athletic field, or tackling a personal goal, I strive to give my best effort and continually improve. That competitive spirit has shaped both my career and my personal life.
When I do find time away from work, I enjoy traveling with my wife, family, and friends. My wife and I have a tradition of seeking out one unique restaurant whenever we visit a new city. We're not necessarily food enthusiasts, but we enjoy discovering memorable dining experiences. Whether it's a revolving restaurant overlooking a skyline, a restaurant built inside a cave, or another one-of-a-kind destination. For us, it's about creating lasting memories together and embracing new experiences wherever our travels take us.

Great Lawyer
I was seeking some information about a probation revocation hearing and Mr. Howard Snader contacted me in less than 6 hours. He sent me some documents that would help my case, he is awesome and I truly appreciate his service.
Derrick... Glad I could help. I hope the advice worked out for you.

Terrible lawyer
Has recommended family andprison time on two cases that he promised probation was going to be what I got. Later in life I contacted him and tried to get advice about a DUI thought maybe he'd want to clean up his mistake with me he claimed he didn't even remember me in the case.ha gave me a half-hour...
I am sincerely disappointed that Vincent would write such a negative review. As Vincent did not leave any identifying information other than his first name, I truly don't know who this person is. Vincent claims that I recommended "family and prison time on two cases" and that we promised him probation. Simply stated, we would never promise a probation outcome. That is never within my control. If these are felonies, the second case may not even be probation possible. I have no idea what he means by "family time." As for a DUI, again without more information, I can't address his comments. Finally, Vincent notes that maybe I would want to clean up my alleged mistake on a DUI. Again, I really can't comment as I have no idea who this person is. I own my mistakes. And, over the past 30 years of practice, I have made a few. I stand by my work. If I truly made a mistake, I will own it. If the mistake is that a client was convicted and they were not happy with the result, I am sorry. But I defend clients accused of crimes. If a client is convicted, that is either because they accepted a plea, admitted guilt, and served a sentence. Or, a judge or jury found facts beyond a reasonable doubt and rendered a guilty verdict. I would have done my best to protect my client and minimize punishment. I can't and won't promise any outcome as the final decision is always made by a prosecutor, a judge or a jury. All we can ever promise is that we have the experience and knowledge to maximize your chance of the best outcome possible in your matter.

An honest attorney. Wow
On two separate occasions, I have gone to Attorney Snader for consultation. In the first case I wanted to challenge an existing ruling. Attorney Snader looked over the specifics and advised me that since the ruling was not actually affecting me at this time, there was no reason to take it to court. "...
