Tim Weitz is one knowledgeable, sharp, and experienced attorney. Simply the BEST when dealing with the Texas Medical Board.

Upon being notified of a complaint to the Texas Medical Board (TMB) I immediately knew I needed an attorney to represent me. I had never received a complaint before and so I didn’t know how the process worked or how to respond to the TMB in a way they were expecting. I found Mr. Tim Weitz through res...earching several attorneys online. After I initially spoke with him regarding the merits of my case and hearing his feedback, I knew I wanted him to represent me. First, he formally worked for the TMB as both the mediating attorney and the attorney that writes up and presents the allegations to the TMB. Second, he’s been practicing for over thirty years so he’s highly experienced. Third, he had great reviews on AVVO. Fourth, I thought it was prudent to have an attorney in Austin since the TMB and any meetings or hearings would take place there. Lastly, he’s not only knowledgeable, in terms of the law, and sharp, since he knows the inner workings of the TMB, but also genuinely concerned about you as a client. He cared about my case and wasn’t just doing this for the money and just moving on to the next case. From the moment of retaining his services and getting into the nitty gritty of the case to construct the proper initial response to the TMB’s allegations, I knew I made the right choice in having Mr. Weitz represent me. He guided me through the uncharted waters from start to finish. I didn’t know how to write up the initial response to the TMB and Mr. Weitz advised me on how to organize my response and what to focus on. His concern and care in dealing with his clients was on full display as he eased my nerves and reassured me about my case. He’s very organized, detail oriented, and reliable as he responded to my emails and calls in a timely manner. As the case proceeded from additional information requested by the TMB to actually having an informal hearing on the matter, Mr. Weitz was phenomenal in informing me on what events were about to take place. As I approached the informal hearing date, Mr. Weitz was instrumental in going through how the whole hearing process would take place and what the TMB is interested in based on the letter for the informal hearing. He knows how to read the letter and focus on what’s important and what isn’t and that’s all due to his knowledge, wisdom, and experience. When I read the letter, I thought all the information was important since the allegations from the TMB are written in such a way that make you appear on paper as an incompetent physician bordering on being a downright criminal. However, after attending the meeting prior to my hearing date, I felt Mr. Weitz not only prepared me well for the meeting but I felt very reassured and confident about the meeting ahead and this was due to the excellent job Mr. Weitz did in explaining what to expect going forward. On the day of the hearing, it went as well as it could possibly go and Mr. Weitz did a fabulous job in representing me to the TMB. It went just as Mr. Weitz had described in terms of the layout of events and the TMB dismissed my case. I thank God in Heaven for finding and hiring Mr. Tim Weitz and for the amazing way he advised and represented me, and of course, I thank God for the dismissal of my case as He used Mr. Weitz in an instrumental and impactful way to provide the results that exonerated me. When you consider that the TMB’s decisions have an enormous impact on not only your reputation, but also your livelihood, I enthusiastically and wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Tim Weitz as the attorney to hire for all matters regarding the TMB. It’s the best possible way to make the most of an unfortunate situation.

Top Notch!

Mr Weitz represented me at a Texas Medical Board hearing and did an outstanding job. Starting with helping me understand the process, followed by the exact steps I needed to take, to prep work and tailoring to my particular case needs, he exceeded my expectations and does fantastic work. Recommend hi...ghly.

TMB defense

Mr. Weitz was recommended to me by my group's attorney. He represented me very well in front of the Texas Medical Board. He was amazing. He knew all the questions that they would ask, and told me exactly how to answer them. Him and I rehearsed many times as well so that I can get my story straight. A...mazing job. I believe he was the best that there is. He even got them to change the language a bit to make it more favorable for me in case I get a new job.

He learned of the details as if he had walked in my shoes

The accusation had left me hurt and questioning whether I wanted to continue my practice. Tim Weitz was determined to make it right. He listened intently and carefully reviewed documents. He never made me feel rushed and answered each of my questions well. Finally, the night before my hearing (wh...ile showing me how I should speak with confidence and strength ) I realized he had memorized every subtle nuance of my case as if he had been in my shoes. His passion and dedication to his work gave me the strength to stand up for myself confidently in a difficult situation. Tim, the remainder of my years in practice are because you care so much. Thank you.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"Tim and I were opposing counsels on numerous occasions. I have nothing but the utmost respect for him as a litigator and as a person. As knowledgeable a defense attorney for Texas Medical Board matters as there is, what truly distinguishes Tim from his peers is the unparalleled passion he utilizes in fighting for his clients’ licenses. Whenever I need a consultation on a Medical Board matter, Tim is the first call I make. His thoroughness and attention to detail translate into favorable decisions for his clients. Tim is one of the few administrative law attorneys who practices the full range of healthcare license defense: from informal settlement conferences, to trying cases at SOAH, to even district court reviews of final agency orders. Finally, as a fellow Judge Advocate, I can attest to Tim’s professionalism resonating throughout the Boardroom and Courtroom."

Relationship: Co-worker

"Tim Weitz is nothing short of an outstanding attorney. I think and have thought for years he was a tireless advocate for his clients. He is selective. He cares. He is intelligent. He knows the law, rules, but also the unwritten policies of the Board, which is critical to know if you want the best possible outcome. He works hard to maintain a reputation for honesty, fair dealing, and as someone who gives all of himself to the cause or challenge in front of him. Tim is respected by other attorneys, by government officials, by Board members, and the medical community. Personally, I learned a tremendous amount about the law and how to conduct myself as a lawyer by watching and learning from Tim. I think he is the best in the business."
