Available, Knowledgeable, Kind
Called Mark for a friend in prison just to run a quick check. He spent almost an hour, for free, to discuss my friend’s case. His informal thoughts (not legal advice) that he was able to explain to me helped immensely and certainly made me appreciate how much of a master of his craft that he is. I would hire him in an instant if if was for me.

Forever Grateful
I was arrested back in 2009 and by a previous attorneys advice I pleaded guilty to a crime I felt I was not guilty of. I ended failing probation and ended up in prison. I was told by many people and read it many times by attorneys and legal counselors that since I had taken a guilty plea there was no way I could ever go back and fight my case. I had never given up hope to one day be free from my sentence or my charge but I had decided to live my life the best I could and only focus on making the best of what life I had. Then I contacted Mark. I was on parole in the midst of completing the last seven years of my twelve year sentence. Mark advised me he would be able to have my sentence relieved and my charge expunged. I doubted him but I still felt that what was wrong could be put right. Mark ultimately did the impossible. My record is now clean. My life is restored and is better than it has ever been. I can never thank him enough for what he was able to do. All I can say is this man is a truly great attorney.

Mark Bennett- The Best Attorney in Houston
Mark Bennett is a remarkable attorney. He is very well versed in the Law, not only does he talk through many possible scenarios with you so that you understand your options; he takes the time to really listen to you. In addition, he is compassionate, honest, and intelligent and genuinely cares about his clients. Mark will be there for you every step of the way. His confidence and understanding of the law and the legal process helped to easy my anxieties and worries. From the first day I spoke to him he has always made himself available. I am very grateful for all he has done for me at one of the lowest points of my life. He helped get my life back. If you are in need of a defense attorney who will fight for you and cares about you call Mark Bennett.

Hope
I was in federal holding with a boot leg cell phone and had just lost a trial over a crime I was not guilty of and things seemed hopeless. I called Mr Bennett on a whim at 10pm desperate for advice with no money or means to hire a lawyer and to late anyway but he answered his phone and he talked to me till 2am giving me advice and if you have never been in the position I was in you will never understand what it meant to me or how he really believed in my innocents and really cared about my well being. From the advice given to me I was able to get my case back in court and negotiate 5 yrs off of my sentence and am free today because of it. I've since net and talked to him in person and I also spent 8 years in a federal prison law library helping others in an attempt to pay the blessing forward and threw all this I can tell you mr Bennett is the only lawyer that cares more about you getting justice then you do. Mark Bennett is a blessing from God PERIOD!
Mark Bennett is a blessing from God PERIOD! If you ever need a lawyer to fight your case, he is the ONE you should call to help! I was falsely accused of sexual assault. And I was lost. I really thought that was the end for me and my family. I saw Mark's profile online and reached out to him. Mark believed in me and fought my case. Mark is kind, compassionate, honest, intelligent, bold, fearless, he knows the law, just name it! Mark took the time to learn not only about the case but about all the circumstances surrounding the situation. He took time to learn about the culture and religion because these played a big role in this case. I promise you, Mark is the lawyer you need to have defending you in court. My case went through trial. And at the end of the day, I was set free! Mark stood by me and my family. He is a man of few words, but his mind is a machine. I could go on and on and on, but I really don't have enough words to describe what Mark Bennett has done for me and my family. THANK YOU MARK! I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL!

First calls experience; perfect communicator; great outcomes
In August 2017 I hired Mr. Bennett to defend me in a criminal case involving accusations of domestic violence and aggravated assault. Of course those charges were false and upon review of my case and supporting documentation in a first discussion, Mr. Bennett agreed to represent me. Mr. Bennett did an outstanding job communicating every step of the way in verbal and written/email communication. I felt he was always accessible to me when I contacted him. His communication style is direct, short and to the point. I received responses to any of my inquiries timely. At times during the most unexpected hours. Clearly, Mr. Bennett goes the extra mile for his clients. My case was possibly straight forward and relatively simple, but I felt that I have chosen the best possible representation, should my case have been indicted. His efficient work led to dismissal of the case and expunction hearing is scheduled soon. Mark, thanks again for your outstanding work and I look forward to having this off my record soon!

the truth
If there be any doubt in your mind about selecting Mark Bennett to defend you against a legal assault mounted by the federal, state or local judicial systems against your life, liberty or happiness---cast them aside. If you are reading this, you are very likely under such assault. Just know there is only one goal to this assault, and that is to prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law, regardless of guilt or innocence or extenuating circumstance. It is their job. And they like it. And the only thing standing between you and a conviction is your defense attorney, upon whom your fate will utterly depend, so you had better make the right choice. I can personally attest that they don’t come any better than Mark Bennett. Period. He is the best of the best. A lawyer’s lawyer, with compassion, integrity, and a deeply intuitive situational intelligence that enables him to create highly effective strategies and tactics to win your case; he can think within the box, outside the box, and even upend the box if necessary---whatever the situation requires. Not only does he keep up with the very latest developments in federal, state, and local legal standards, practices and laws, his cutting edge commentaries and articles on a wide variety of evolving legal issues help to shape and inform the attitudes and opinions of innumerable practicing lawyers and judges, both locally and nationally. On at least one occasion while in court, he actually had to educate the judge and prosecutor of a change in the law, which as a matter of course led to yet another dismissal. This is a defense attorney that you want at your side. My case involved a false accusation and a wrongful arrest, personally exponentiated by a sensationalized flurry of local and internet journalism which threatened to destroy not only my reputation and livelihood, but my career as well. I had no experience in legal matters whatsoever. I had a month before my initial court date, and so I spent that time doing in-depth research on legal defense options. When I came across Mark Bennett’s website, it was the tenor and tone that struck me first. Second were the stellar reviews from his previous clients. I continued doing research, but after a few days, I kept coming back to Mark. I knew he was the one. I contacted him, and he accepted my case. For which I am and shall remain immensely grateful. Mark wasted no time. After filling out the big picture, he then identified the specific areas that needed clarification and investigation. He spared no expense or effort, using his investigative staff, even to the point of subpoenaing phone records. One of the great things about Mark is that he includes you in the loop. He informs you of what he is doing and what he finds, and answers any and all questions you may have about even the most incidental of details, whether factual or speculative. But most of all, he is tolerant and patient with your questions, regardless of how dumb or irrelevant. In a word---he is kind. And eminently personable. A rigorous, no-nonsense professional who exercises kindness. It’s a lovely thing to find. Especially when your life is hanging in the balance. The court dates went on for months, and at each instance, he gathered more and more information and moved the ball further downfield. And then finally, when he uncovered exactly where the critical point to the entire affair lay, he pressed the DA into action. And the result of the DA’s action? Dismissal. Utter and unequivocal. Just like that. It was unbelievable---I was a free man once again. After the dismissal, we filed and were granted an expunction order (the complete clearing and destruction of all records pertaining to the case). Tabula rasa. It was the complete legal restoration of my civic status. But the situation wasn’t quite over yet. Suffice to say that Mark’s representation was indeed---stellar. Frank

The Very Best
I don't even know where to begin....I hired a local lawyer over 5 years ago for my 18 yr old son, who was told take the plea as would not get any better. He did not even show up for court to sign the plea. Anyhow, my son was placed on 8 yrs probation with the plea. After almost 4 years probation completed we hired Mark to have the case dismissed. After the case was dismissed, the DA decided to reopen and charge him with a different title for the same crime. We were shocked. I called Mark back and hired him. Even though he lives in Houston and us in Midland we knew we wanted Mark. Midland has a buddy system with the lawyers, DA, etc. and we have no trust or faith in them. After a total of 5 years of hell, we went to court with Mark at our side, and left the court room with a jury of NOT Guilty Verdict. We cannot say enough good things about him. We feel he is part of our family and has changed our sons life along with all of our lives. We are forever grateful, and recommend others to hire Mark. You truly do get what you pay for. He is a smart, caring, and honest man. There are no words to show our appreciation for him. We love him!!

Skilled, Humanistic Professional
I recently turned to Mr. Bennett for help with a First Amendment appeal being litigated in federal court. He was enormously helpful not only in bringing clarity to the content of the argument, but in putting together a serious legal document for the judges. I highly recommend his services without hesitation.

expunction order
Mr Bennett WOW ! It's hard to believe it's finally over! I'm so very happy, you've no idea! Thank you for handling my final expunction order. My case was tried and acquitted over 35 years ago, but I have “carried” the burden of the case with me ever since. I feel like that chapter of my life is finally behind me and I no longer have to hide or walk around with a copy of my disposition paper in my purse. Neither do I have to dread when a potential employer asks “is there anything else that I should know before we start processing your application.” Thank you for giving me life back, I wish I had known you 35 years ago, I wish the lawyer who originally handled my case would have suggested I get an expunction order. I hope that I have expressed and conveyed how grateful I truly am. Thank you Mr. Bennett

Mark Bennett saved my life
I was wrongly accused of a horrible felony crime. Family influenced me to stick with a court appointed attorney and I quickly realized that is NOT a smart avenue to take. My girlfriend started helping me look for an attorney and came upon Mark Bennett. We met with him and immediately knew he was the answer we were looking for. We met with him and immediately felt like my case wasn't hopeless. He is very good at reading people and situations, very knowledgable, and genuinely cares about you. In court, he is a force to be recogned with. I would not want to have him against me. He was always 2 steps ahead of my accusers , picked apart their made up stories and ridiculous behavior and showed the jury what was really going on. In the end he saved my life and I'm here now to be able to tell any of you in a similar situation to sit down with Mark before you make any decisions and if you want a fighting chance you should hire him and you won't be sorry you did.

Excellent legal mind!
Mark Bennett is a highly talented attorney who is gifted with perception and intuition. He has a knack for seeing the big picture, but also is very detail oriented. Mark is a highly respected attorney, and a leader in his field. He works tirelessly for his clients, and makes himself available and accessible, when needed. If you are in the position of retaining legal counsel, do not do so without consulting with Mark first. We are very happy with the results he obtained for us, in a very complicated legal matter. We are convinced that no other attorney could have obtained these results. Should we ever be faced with a similar decision again, we would retain Mark Bennett without hesitation.

Mark Bennett put my life back on track
If you are looking for a brilliant, determined, and respectful defense attorney who will fight for you hire Mark Bennett.  I was charged with a Misdemeanor Class B for Disorderly Conduct with a firearm.  My first meeting at Mark's office gave me hope (and Mark even bought me lunch!).  His professionalism and demeanor have a way of making you feel that you have the right defense attorney.  He is smart, and doesn’t think like a former prosecuting attorney. In court, you see those run-of-the-mill attorneys who merely plea everything out and never go to trial. Mark is the opposite. He told me “I’ll take this case to trial by jury”. Mark, by the way, is excellent at reading people. He has a YouTube video discussing voir dire which I would encourage you to watch (Search YouTube for: Houston Criminal Defense Lawyer Mark Bennett Teaches Jury Selection). Mark helped me understand the entire process, and how we would get through this. His calm and confident manner helped me to be patient with the process.  When he comes in and talks to the prosecuting team and approaches the judge, I noticed how they all respected him and he commands their attention in a positive way.  After our trial date was reset month after month, I kept my focus on the goal set by Mark - to get the case dismissed or win the trial.  I believed if I did everything he said and maintained a clean record, we could win. After a full year, we finally had the trial date set for October 6 and Mark worked diligently to get me prepared for the witness stand. He taught me how to approach cross examination without falling into the DA’s traps. I had the best surprise on my trial day when Mark walked up to me and said that the case was going to be dismissed!  I walked out of that court house a new person, confident, and ready to get my life back on track. Within two days, I was back in a job interview with a global company with a strong Houston presence.  I know I will remember Mark the rest of my life, as the person who treated me with respect and dignity at a time when I needed that the most.  Thank you, Mark Bennett!

Thank You Mark and God bless you
Mark is an exceptional attorney. If you have judicial problem, talk to Mark. You will be in safe hands. He will patiently listen to you and make you feel that he is always there for you to help. He is the best in class and has a big heart. Recently I was charged with 2 cases in the Houston court. The crimes were performed in Harris County in Houston .It was shocking as I had never been to Harris County or Houston in my life. I had warrants against me so I could have been arrested. To add a challenge I had to go to out of the country in 2 weeks.I did not know what to do. I wanted someone who can listen my version and then provide me consultation for the next steps. I talked to 7-8 attorneys based on their reviews from Avvo.com. Their individual sites boasted about free consultation for 30 min -1 hr. But when I called them few of them demanded that they needed to be engaged and paid before they could provide any consultation. Others gave suggestion which looked very similar, “Pay me, get a bail by posting bond and then appear in Houston court on court date”. That meant expense and time. When I talked to Mark, he had very unique suggestion. He said he will try to have cases dismissed without me even going to Houston. It looked unbelievable but I agreed. He shared the cases details with me. According to the case the 2 crimes were done by a physiotherapist at physiotherapy clinic at Huston. In contrast, I am an IT manager and never trained on physiotherapy. He was very quick to understand that it was the case of mistaken identity. He did a research to find that there is another guy with my name in Houston who had degree in physiotherapist and worked in the same clinic when crime was done. He even tasked his investigators to visit to physiotherapy clinic and collected all the required details (Passport, DL, Certificates etc) about that guy. He then contacted Chief, all the ADAs and investigators to inform that case was filed against the wrong guy and shared the details on the right guy. Mark is highly respected attorney in the state of Texas and everyone including judges respects him. And I witnessed that. In few days, 2 cases against me were dismissed without me appearing in the court or even going to Houston. It would not have been possible if I did not have Mark representing me. In turn, Mark just asked me to pay him for 1 hr of his time. In reality Mark had spent much more time on this case. This fee was nothing in compared to what other attorneys demanded. For Mark it could be one of his easiest cases but in reality he saved the life of an innocent. The case which looked complicated in the beginning, Mark made it look so simple. Believe me, Mark is one of the attorneys whom you can trust. I am writing this review to thank him. This is the least I could do. Thank You Mark and God bless you! Me and my family will be always grateful to you.

Trustworthy and Always Available
I hired Mark over a year ago to defend me against an alleged domestic assault. He gave me up front pricing for the case as well as the expungement and never changed the price even though it took longer than expected. He was always there for court and occasionally asked the judge if I could be excused from appearing to save me from lost time at work. He presented the offers made by the DA but gave me confidence that I could beat the charge. He found evidence that supported my case. He made recommendations that made me victorious. I could not be more happy with his services and will recommend him to my family and friends. His professionalism and efficient work has inspired me to go to law school in 2016.

The best decision you'll ever make
I hired mark two years ago when I was arrested for felony theft. I was never so scared in my life. From the moment I first met mark I knew and you will to , he's not just any run the mill lawyer. You should see the amount of respect and presence he has in the courtroom. He knows his stuff. He got my felony reduced to a misdemeanor deferred . Now mind you I had overwhelming evidence against me and he still got it reduced. I received 16 months probation and I was done in 8. Just recently I filed petition for non discloser and was in court again. Mark never charged me for representing me again and SCHOOLED not only the DA but the judge as well on the laws ! the DA was trying to say I had to wait 2 years before I could petition the court for non discloser and the judge agreed! I thought that was it until the super lawyer came to save the day and proceeded to tell them BOTH what the law was! I can i just tell you I have never seen a judge and a DA look so stupid in my whole life! You will not regret hiring mark Bennett as your lawyer! If you are not convinced go talk to him , you will not regret it !

One of the best descions you'll ever make
The morning I got out of jail after being charged with a Class A misdemeanor, I started looking for an attorney to represent me. Never having been arrested, or in any kind of legal trouble before in my life, I was scared to say the least. I did some research, "shopping around" if you will, trying to find the cheapest lawyer I could and one that I felt comfortable would help me the absolutely best he could. When I called Mr. Bennett's office, I was surprised when he personally picked up the phone. I explained the situation to him, and asked him how much he would charge. He talked to me, told me what I needed to do that would help my case, and without realizing it, gave me peace of mind all free of charge. I was sold at that point and didn't care what the cost was. I walked into his office the next day, payed him and waited on the court date. Over the next 7 months he fought my case and ultimately got it dismissed. He kept me well informed on what was happening, the next steps to be taken. He even ran down different scenarios the DA could do how he would go about it. But everytime he walked into the courtroom, I was reminded of that peace of mind knowing that he was going to win like he had been telling me all along. He really does have this court presence that says he isn't going to be walked over by the prosecutor, or taken lightly. Anyone who might be reading this who is on the fence about weather or not to hire Mr. Bennett, I promise you won't be disappointed. If you don't believe me, read the other reviews and I'm sure they will say something along the same lines. Mark Bennett is NOT one of those $100 mail order attorneys. If you are looking for that you need to go somewhere else. Just remember you get what you pay for. I hope I never have to use his services again, but if I do then I know exactly who to go to first. Mr. Bennett, if you happen to be reading this, again thank you for everything you did.

A job well done! Thank You Mark!
Mark represented me in a Class A Misdemeanor Family Violence case. Even though I knew the case was BOGUS, evidence and witness statements were garbage, the D.A. on the other hand was pushing hard to try and turn this into a Felony Case. Not only did they want to make it a Felony case, the D.A. was pushing hard to try and make charges stick without regard to my innocence and the proof I had. Mark took on my case after my first appearance in front of the judge by myself. I knew as I was sitting in the court room and listening to other cases being tried, I needed good representation. I was given his number and called him the second I left court. He had me go straight to his home office, which was very nice and a quite comfortable setting. I told him all the facts of my case and he told me that he would take it on. He handed me the nicest and most unique business card I've ever seen. On my next scheduled court appearance in front of the Judge, Mark was there. He kept me well briefed. He got the Judge to lift the Protective Order on our first appearance, which was keeping me from going home to my wife and kids. It took him only 2 months, with a total of 4 court appearances, to make the D.A. realize and the Judge convinced that they had no case. Which in my book is a Job well done. I've seen cases like mine dragged out to almost a year, I'm glad he was my lawyer and I would gladly rehire him all over again. I thought for a brief second I could handle this case on my own, but I'm glad I didn't try. Mark is not all shimmer and shine, he's unique! Unique from his business card to his bow tie and cowboy boots. Even more importantly though, on the way he gets things done. I didn't need a runway lawyer, I needed one that knew the law and that's exactly what I got. With a job like mine, Government related, I couldn't take the chance of things going bad. So if your reading this Mark, THANK YOU!

In 2006 my girlfriend died of an overdose. In 2010, I was charged and indicted for Delivery of a CS F4. Mark Bennett selected a jury in Harris County on my behalf in front of a very hostile and myopic Judge named Denise Collins. Additionally the DAs Office assigned a “special prosecutor”-Commie Spence, and the trial was covered by all of the media with the point being that the only people who were somewhat on our side were the bailiffs who completely supported us after hearing the evidence. So Mark did an outstanding job in a hi profile, prejudicial, and hostile venue where it was clear that the Judge was just another prosecutor, but who was on the Bench, making it that much more difficult. Despite all these facts he got a not guilty on my behalf."

I had the opportunity to sit second chair with him on a trial last year and he was top-notch from jury selection to closing arguments. I am constantly seeking his advice on complex legal issues. All of this is evident based one him being honored as 2015 Harris County Criminal Lawyer of the year. Mark has raised the bar for criminal defense in Houston and throughout.
