Horrendous

I cannot begin to express how unethical and unprofessional my experience with Michael and Associates has been. After hiring them to represent me in a very sensitive legal case—one involving threats to my life, including threats of murder and imprisonment—the firm accepted my retainer and gathered hig...hly confidential information about my case. Only after they had all the details did they inform me of a "serious conflict of interest" and voided my payment, completely abandoning me without explanation or even the courtesy of a phone call. As a law firm, it is their responsibility to conduct conflict of interest checks before taking on clients, before accepting payment, and especially before gathering sensitive information. By failing to do so, they not only acted negligently but have potentially jeopardized my entire case. I now find out that they have some kind of connection to the individual who has made these violent threats against me. The firm’s handling of my case has put me at even greater risk and caused me significant emotional distress during an already traumatic time in my life. They have not only failed to act with any professionalism but have breached their ethical obligations as attorneys. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the state bar and pursuing legal malpractice against this firm. Their negligence, lack of communication, and refusal to explain the conflict of interest is shocking, especially considering the gravity of my situation. Michael and Associates is not a firm you can trust. If you are looking for legal representation that actually cares about your case and your safety, do not turn to this firm. They will abandon you at the most critical moment, as they did to me. This is a serious warning to anyone considering working with them—think twice before trusting them with your case or your money.
