Biography
We think a lot about how we would feel, or what we would want, if we were in a client’s shoes. Being a family lawyer means more than just knowing the law. We factor in human nature and consider our client’s feelings as well as what the legal system provides. Instead of automatically assuming we will go to court for solutions, we find out what our clients' goals and needs are and then focus on finding the least-destructive and most effective and creative ways to resolve disagreements or meet their needs.
My preference is to use Collaborative Law whenever I can to resolve family law cases. I have been doing Collaborative Law for over 10 years and spend a lot of time promoting it, since many people still are unfamiliar with it. I enjoy writing, speaking and teaching about Collaborative Law.

I have lived in Fort Worth for over 35 years. I have been married for over 25 years and have a son in college. My wife and I had an antique business on the side for several years, but we closed up shop to allow more time with our son’s school and other activities. In my spare time, I was a Scoutmaster for several years and I coached a baseball team for eight years.
