I cannot put into words how grateful I am that you were willing to take my grandsons case.
My grandson made several bad decisions just after turning 18 years of age which resulted in his arrest. Facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, my wife and I were at a loss on how best to help our grandson. After contacting your firm, a good deal of our burdens’ were lifted.
For almost two years, Mr. Martin and Mr. Kent worked on my grandson’s behalf. Dealing with aggressive prosecutors, guiding us thru numerous court proceedings and appearances, and answering all of our questions. Due to your firm’s efforts, the felony charges were reduced. The potential outcome could have been far worse. My family and I will forever be grateful.
Thank you Julie, Mr. Martin and Mr. Kent.

We hired Tim and Scott to defend our son on a motor vehicle burglary charge. They were incredible and actually beat the case. Now we are seeking expungement. Our son's future is again bright. We can't thank them enough for all their hard work. Hire these guys if you need help.

If I had a thousand tongues, I could not say enough about Martin and Kent. They made sure we knew what was happening through the whole process for my son. They always made time to answer questions and gave us information that we needed. They were always there to help with the next step, when something didn't go right, then paperwork was filed in a timely fashion for the next step. I would highly recommend them. I did recommend them to someone and they were happy as well with Martin and Kent services. They are organized, compassionate, straight forward and honest.

The result is that I'm not in jail.
I got arrested for a DUI with possession of 2 grams of cocaine, weed and paraphernalia. I spoke with Tim and he told me how he would dissect the evidence to make sure everything was followed to a T and look for opportunities to poke holes in the situation that would make evidence gathering illegal. I was excited that I had hired the right guy.
I didn't hear from him much after signing on. In fact, it wasn't until right before my first court date when I got a call confirming that I'd be there. When I hired him I'd told him I'd been charged with a DUI in the past but it was thrown out.
So, fast forward and he kind of shocked me by pleading guilty without discussing it with me. I thought he had all these points that would help him get the case thrown out but apparently he made the decision for me. The prosecutor wasn't willing to make an easy deal because of the prior arrest, which I had explained had been thrown out but both Prosecutor and Mr. Martin didn't believe me.
It took me a while of convincing but he finally actually looked up the case with Pros. and saw that it actually had been dismissed and I was eligible for court supervision. I felt like this is something that should have been researched. Even the judge, when looking at the charges, immediately saw it had been dismissed.
The end result for me was that I lost my license for 6 months and had to get a BAIID device (which most people in my DUI class did not have to get,) and I got 2 years of TASC probation for the cocaine (which I was eligible for since it was my first possession charge) and the pot and paraphernalia got dropped.
I'm very happy to not be in jail for the drug charge. Obviously with charges like these an attorney is absolutely necessary. I wish he'd been able to get the case dismissed or had talked to me a bit more to discuss things prior to standing in front of a judge.
I'm happy that things weren't worse, he did a very good job at giving me guidance on how to perform at interviews and making sure I completed my tasks on time. I can't blame him for me taking a punishment when I did commit a crime, I was just hopeful that we would be able to exploit some of the points he mentioned on our initial consultation.
I want to get this felony hidden from my record and I'm looking forward to Mr. Martin showing me how we can suppress this from showing up on job search results in the future.

I originally hired another attorney who inturn had me hire Mr. Martin in late 2000 after being charged with sexual abuse of a teenage male. That cost me two $10,000.00 retainers and $2,000.00 for a private investigator that was never hired. I just got out of prison 2 months ago. I refused to take a plea deal and went to trial.
In the months before trial, Mr. Martin started saying things that should have made me fire him. I didn't and i regret it to this day. He told me he was not going to ruin his reputation in the community over my case. That if the state offered me a good plea deal and i didn't take it he would withdraw. (He didn't) He would change his stories about investigations that were supposedly going on to prove the police were not telling the truth in their reports.
During trial he didn't call any witnesses for the defence. He didn't admit any thing into evidence even though there were over 30 inconsistent statements and I had proof that I was not in town or working on the days it was claimed to have happened. During jury selection he implied I was gay giving the jury the idea that I was a person that would have sex with a male even thow I have never admitted to being gay and I don't live a gay life style. He basically only asked the state's witnesses different versions of the same questions the state asked providing no reasonable doubt. He even went as far as to apologies to the alleged victim when he was on the stand for having to come to court and testify. In closing arguments he even admitted that some claimed acts did happen.
After trial, when I wrote him a letter criticizing the states attorney, he wrote me back saying that "no one held a knife to your head and forced you to commit the crime." Just what you want to here from your defense attorney.
In the end it cost me 14 years in prison and over $82,000.00. When i hired Mr. Martin, he was lead named partner in his law firm. After my case he left that firm and started another. I believe he has done that one more time after that. One has to wonder why he keeps doing that. If you plan on hiring this man you better ask youself the question, do I want to take the chance of this happening to me and is that the way an attorney should act no matter what the crime? I thought you were entitled to a vigorous defence no matter what. Not in my case.

I hired Mr. Martin to represent me on a Class IV Felony Possession case. I was facing up to 3 years in prison and initially the State's Attorney was unwilling to offer anything else. Like a magician, he was able negotiate a deal with the State's Attorney that allowed me to be sentenced to TASC Probation with the option of having my conviction vacated once I successfully completed it. This was done in DuPage County, IL which is notorious for harsh sentencing. What is even more remarkable is that I had another case pending in Cook County for the exact same offense! Martin called members of my family to testify so that the judge could see that I was a human being and not just some criminal. In addition, when my case was called again for a possible violation, Tim had already arranged a satisfactory deal with the State so that I would not be resentenced to prison time. I have dealt with lots of lawyers (even have one in my family) and Tim Martin is by far the best I have seen. He is dedicated, thorough, and doesn't treat you like a piece of garbage simply because you made a mistake. If you value your freedom, seriously don't hesitate. Call Martin and Kent ASAP!!!!!

Timothy P. Martin represented me in a criminal case last year. I was highly satisfied with his professionalism, courteousy, and availability. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome.

This was my 3rd DUI case. 1st Attorney Tim Martin managed to get the Summary Suspension thrown out so I was able to drive during the lengthy proceedings. I was facing an extended amount of jail time, but Attorney Tim Martin was able to prevent all of that. In the end I walked away with probation, some community service and no jail time thanks to his expertise. All the odds were stacked against me on this case but Attorney Tim Martin worked out a deal of a lifetime. Great, aggressive attorney that won't let you down.

I was nervous about my case (driving on revoked for a second time), Mr. Martin just walked in the court room and had the case more or less thrown out. I paid a small fine, received no jail time or community service, and still had a chance to get my driving privileges back. I would recommend him to anyone with a legal problem, I wish I would have met him early to work on my other cases. Greatest lawyer ever!
