About me

Mike Reidy, who resides in the western suburbs, is a partner with the MARQUARDT & BELMONTE PC.  Mike has been licensed to practice law since 1996.  Mike received his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University – College of Law after having received his bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Mike was the former president of the Kendall County Bar Association and is an active member in the Kane and DuPage County Bar Associations.  Mike previously served on the Judicial Evaluation Committee in the 16th Judicial Circuit that helps to determine the qualifications and aptitude of judges.

Mike began his legal career doing civil litigation in a law firm in Chicago.  However, Mike followed his passion in trying cases and became an Assistant State’s Attorney under Joseph Birkett.  Mike successfully prosecuted hundreds and hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases – having received awards for most jury trials and most felony trials.  Mike was selected to become the First Assistant State’s Attorney of Kendall County in 2006, which is the second highest law enforcement official in that county.  Mike has extensive litigation experience in all criminal areas ranging from simple traffic matters, DUIs, assault and batteries, domestic batteries, burglaries, robberies and thefts to complex criminal matters such as shaken baby cases, murders, sexual assaults and reckless homicide cases.  Mike has litigated difficult cases involving complex medical issues, toxicology, fingerprint analysis, ballistics, DNA, drug analysis and identification, and suggestive interviewing techniques.  Mike was responsible for training police officers in areas involving interrogation, investigation and search and seizure.
