Our son had been walking across America and was struck and killed by a distracted driver in January on Route 90 in Fort Walton County. As parents we were devastated.
We do not live in Florida. We were also searching for answers in terms of whether or not we had a legitimate case and whether we should seek legal remedy in the matter.
Dealing with grief and loss is difficult enough. Then, trying to determine whether or not you should invest additional emotional capital in something that may (or may not) deliver any return for your efforts only compounds a very difficult and emotionally-wrenching situation.
After calling and leaving a message with Mr. Dodson’s office, he called me back within hours.
His consultation was compassionate, but also indicated an attorney with a wealth of experience in pedestrian and bicycle death cases. In the course of a 20 minute conversation, he helped me realize that as difficult as it was to hear, we did not have a legitimate case. In fact, I’d been agonizing about phone records for the driver and going back-and-forth with the FHP for nothing. Even if the driver was texting, she would not have been charged with anything more than a civil citation (which she ultimately was).
Mr. Dodson’s honesty, frankness, but also interacting with me in a human and humane manner impressed me. I was also able to move on from being fixated on a matter that was out of our hands. I'm not sure if I'd have been as fortunate if I hadn't come across Mr. Dodson's site and managed to consult with him.

I was feeling unprotected, and out of sorts. The auto accident was not my fault and yet I felt no support from my own insurance company. Being my first, I believed I needed an attorney to represent my rights. I googled and found one, called left voicemail. I called another Dodson, and Michele Ross answered the phone. We scheduled a meeting and I signed the documents that dat. I immediately felt some relief knowing I am not alone in this process. Michele while conveying empathy is well versed in the law, and my rights for restitution of costs I have incurred for another person's mistake. The first attorney's office where I left a voicemail called back alright two hours later but I informed them I had already made an appointment with another firm.

Recently I was riding with a Bicycle Club in The Villages FL. Traffic control gates came down cutting our bicycle pace line, I swerved to go through the middle of the two gates and one gate arm hit me on the shoulder. The gate broke away clean and landed on the curb...Thankfully I was not lingered to bad! ...automatic gate sensors were not working properly...
The Villages sent me a $250 gate repair bill...
Jim is a avid bicyclist and is familiar with bicycle issues...
with his thoughtfully written letter to The Villages we put the gate issue to rest.
Thanks Jim.... you are a pleasure to work with and I would recommend you to any one...especially Cyclists

I was in a car accident in April 2013 in which I was significantly injured. Initially, I did not realize I had been badly hurt, but as the days went by, I noticed increasing soreness, neck pain & numbness. Having known Jim personally for 25 years, I did not hesitate picking up the phone to give him a call. From that moment on, Jim guided me through my "case" from start to finish. He encouraged me to try more conservative types of treatment in an attempt to avoid surgery, which I did end up needing to have as it turned out. I'd heard horror stories about other attorneys telling their clients to see this doctor, get this treatment & so on in an attempt to get the most bang for their buck, per se. Jim is not like this at all, never has been. He treated me as if we were friends, which we are. I chose my own healthcare providers & the length of time I received services; Jim was very helpful in suggesting the types of care I should pursue. Jim & Judi were always accessible to me whether it be via phone calls, email or text. Not a single time did I have to wait unnecessarily for a response from either of them. I felt confident in Jim's ability to represent me & was very satisfied with the outcome of my "case." His reputation is deservedly beyond reproach. Jim is a highly intelligent, exceedingly professional & very personable man with an exceptional amount of integrity. He is truly an honest & efficient attorney.

A family member of mine referred me to Jim Dodson. From my first meeting, I knew I was given a great referral. Jim looked over my case, told me what to expect and from that first meeting Jim and his staff handled everything. I was informed as the case moved forward and a just settlement was reached.
I would certainly recommend Jim Dodson to everyone.

In 2002 I was involved in car accident and was refered to Mr. Dodson to manage my claim. Mr Dodson and his Paralegal, Ms. Judi Ware were extremely helpful giving me guidance, recommending different doctors for the treatment I required, and provided me with sound advice concerning car insurance, etc. I managed to navigate the crazy world of car and health insurance claims and was able to receive a small settlement that allowed me to walk away debt free. In late 2008, unfortunately, I needed to seek Mr. Dodson's help again. My husband and I were involved in a serious car accident that resulted in the total loss of our vehicle and extensive therapy for my husband and for myself. After four excruciating years of medical procedures culminating in a neck fusion, I am now able to regain normalcy again. I could not have done it without Jim's and Judi's help. They were with us every step of the way and managed to to negotiate a decent settlement that has allowed us to look forward to the future with certainty and purpose, and debt free! Thank you Jim and Judy for all you did for us!!
