Cost-effective, strategic and zealous legal advocacy in Florida for almost 30 years
For almost 30 years years the Tischhauser Law Group has protected consumers against the harassing and abusive methods debt collection agencies use to collect debts. You deserve respect, even when you have fallen on hard times. You have rights, no matter how much you owe or to whom and no matter what bill collectors tell you otherwise. In our troubled economic times the Tischhauser Law Group and its attorneys will always fight to ensure that even if you've lost your job, lost your good credit score or even just lost your way in the ever more complicated financial world, you won't lose your dignity.
The Tischhauser Law Group is a consumer rights/debt-collection defense and personal injury law firm. Our focus in these areas makes us highly respected and knowledgeable attorneys for consumer rights law and personal injury in Tampa and throughout Central Florida. Because of our proven track record, many of our clients come to us as referrals from respected sources including previous clients and other lawyers as well as defense lawyers who’ve experienced the quality of our representation from the other side. Most amazingly, even people we sued for our clients want to retain the Tischhauser Law Group to handle their own case.
A commitment to protecting consumers and debtors
Maybe a bill collector is calling to collect a debt you owe, but cannot pay, or a creditor is calling to collect a debt you dispute or feel you don’t owe. While collection agencies may have a right to collect debt, if they obey the law when they do, you have the right to hold them responsible if they subject you to abuse, disrespect, or lies. Because of laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, you may be entitled to a cash settlement and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act may entitle you to recover money for any actual damage collectors cause, and the court may award an additional penalty of up to $1,. The abusive debt collectors can also be responsible for paying the attorney's fees, which allows you to retain an attorney to enforce your rights! More importantly, if the abusive bill collectors have broken the law they should be held responsible for their actions, just like they claim you should be responsible for the debts they collect.
Our commitment to protect you applies equally to injury cases, whether you are injured in a car accident, motorcycle wreck, slip and fall or animal attack. The insurance industry revolves around making billions of dollars collecting insurance premiums and not paying them back out in claim settlements. From the very first contact you will be dealing with professional adjusters, many trained by insurance defense lawyers, whose primary focus in life is following insurance company policies established to maximize their profit while making you believe that you are getting the best in customer service. The greatest money making event for an insurance company is handling a claim with an injured person that is not represented by an attorney. Why? Because typically the only person that has the slightest clue about the pros and cons of the claim, its value and the true financial exposure of the insurance company, is the adjuster who is your adversary! You undoubtedly would never want to play a card game where the other player gets to see all of your cards, gets to deal as crooked as he likes and makes up rules as he goes along that you have to abide by. You get to do nothing but sit at the table, without any expectation other than simply losing all of your money. Handling your injury claim, even with your own insurance company, is just the same.
If you find yourself in any legal situation, you need an honest and tough attorney who stands firmly by your side. When you reach out to us, you leave behind your worries about creditors who harass you or insurance adjusters who ignore or just frustrate you. They become our responsibility.
The scope of our practice covers:
The support you need from an attorney you can rely on
We arm you with knowledge about your personal rights. The more you understand your case and situation, the better we can serve you. The lawyers at the Tischhauser Law Group have seen so many unfair and dishonest practices, scams and schemes that prey on individuals like you, they can focus in on the issues to be addressed in order to resolve your case without being distracted by the various controversies intended by the offenders to confuse or frustrate many lawyers. Regardless of your situation, we give you our best to give you back your peace of mind.

Not a smart lawyer
Asked question if I could sue cps bout defending my baby momma home for unsafe environment for my son. He said no well I took it to the lawyer that day and they said yes I can sue the next day (yesterday) I posted photos to everyone on Google review bout my baby momma home how there was roaches maggo...
This is, yet again, a review from a person that was not a client but a Q&A poster falsely claiming otherwise. Here the poster wanted to sue CPS claiming that CPS lied about addressing a complaint about how his child "smells like roaches" claiming they inspected the mother's residence. My response was and remains that the answer is NO, not under the facts, for a variety of reasons such as sovereign immunity, and that the poster needs to retain a family lawyer ASAP to address the issue. This one star review is from a post made May 27, 2023 at 7:42 P.M (Friday night on memorial weekend) and now claims that " a lawyer in his home town" said YES and that I am wrong, apparently on Memorial Day and that they posted pictures on FCPS google review, which is claimed to have gotten immediate response, confessions of fault and apologies, the firing of the CPS case worker and even an arrest of the mother ---------all over the Memorial holiday weekend and a period of 3 days? Pardon me if I find this to score exceptionally low on the credibility scale. Regardless, if a favorable result for the child occurred - that still good news regardless.

Rude, condescending, awful
I had the misfortune of consulting with Mark, and I wish I hadn't wasted my time. Never have I had to deal with someone so haughty and arrogant in my life. He said my question was ridiculous. Never hire this guy.
Because the opinions of a CHILD, that is not even allowed to be on AVVO in the first place, hiding behind a keyboard to post 1 star reviews, should even be allowed. This is the same bullying mentality that got them beat up as set out below - so they plainly haven't learned the lesson yet. This appears to be regarding a post from a CHILD, presumably a teen, that got a TXT message to "come out and fight" from some other child. Apparently HE is "much bigger" than THE GIRL, that called him outside to fight, he actually goes outside to get in the fight, plays silly games like "you hit me first so I can defend myself," gets slapped and commences to fighting the girl all around the neighborhood. Eventually, he gets jumped by "some other kids" and now wants to play victim and "file charges" because he got beat up. This is the CLASSIC definition of a "bully" - people tough enough to fight someone much smaller than them --- but cry "victim" when they catch a beating themselves. So, YES, if you are stupid enough to "go outside" and purposefully get in a fight, with anyone over anything, and then expect to cry victim when you get beat up - your position is in fact ridiculous. If that hurts the poster's feelings, time to grow up before you find yourself in jail. This is the same moronic mindset of adult domestic violence offenders - that think its crafty to bait a woman into slapping them - so they can then beat them into unconsciousness - pretending its "self defense" because "she hit me first" when the cops show up. For the poster - you might as well start adulting and really rethink your world view - before you are another homeless, unemployed 40 year old bully, that can't get or keep a job, or rent a decent place to live, because of a criminal record as a violent offender or worse "go outside" and end up dead - like the example I gave you about the Sacremento gang shooting that occurred over the weekend with 6 dead and 12 shot - because some people were "disrepected" and took to brawling. If a pouty one star review eventually gets you to remove your head from your butticles - fine.

Rude and arrogant.
Upon consulting with this attorney, he was extremely rude and close minded. Did not try to listen or emphasize with my situation at all. Instead of listening, he spoke AT me. After reading these other bad reviews about him, I quickly realized that I was not the only one who's experienced this from hi...
This is why we encourage people to read and consider the reviews FROM ACTUAL CLIENTS in contrast to these types of posts. Sadly, this seems to be the new norm for angry, disgruntled and often petty people on the internet that don't like being told what they don't want to hear in an AVVO comments; to hide behind the ability to be anonymous while filing retaliatory one star reviews. We equally encourage readers to read our responses as they provide "the rest of the story" and welcome them to judge the issues for themselves. As a teaching point here, for those looking to retain or consult with lawyers in the future, especially though online services, if your focus is for lawyers to "empathize" with you or your situation and view legal advice you don't agree with as "close minded" or "rude" because it doesn't support your views, you are doing yourself a disservice. You need to remember you are consulting with a lawyer, not looking for a new best friend for vent with or someone to agree with you as an expensive means to provide emotional support. It is my view that the BEST service a lawyer can provide any client is to objectively analyze your situation, provide practical solutions, to provide a realistic game plan for actually resolving the issues, and to refrain from enabling clients engaged in poor or emotional decision making or conduct. In many instances, due to a wide variety of circumstances, whether due to the constraints of the legal system, financial considerations, legal or personal issues, that entails dealing with the painful reality that one's expectations may have to be adjusted to account for those issues and that many times legal remedies are not the solution to every problem.

Disrespectful
I inquired about a situation I am currently in with my landlord and he belittled me and accused me of being money hungry. Very rude, watch out for him.
Its like a broken record, unfortunately, and again - not an actual client - but an unhappy blurb recipient....where unreasonable people ask for legal "advice" and and when told that their position is unreasonable, are "offended" simply because they weren't told what they wanted to hear. Unfortunately, such people do NOT seek "legal advice" but rather cheer leading or to coached in "working" the system. Anyone that doesn't support them blindly or challenges or questions the claims, is "rude" and immediately gets "1 star" review in typical fashion, until they are told what they want or are simply ignored, where they complain lawyers "suck and wont help them." In this instance the poster finds offense at being challenged as a college student renter on the motives behind a barrage of claims made as a tenant trying to get out of a lease. By example, the poster claimed that there was a "mold problem" where mold had infested the entire kitchen, all of their clothes, shoes and and walls in the rental. ODDLY, when the Landlord agreed to let them out of the lease to move, the poster DEMANDED A TWO MONTH EXTENSION to do so. Sorry, but ANY JUDGE will raise an eyebrow at that, as its absolutely inconsistent with legitimate claims that the mold is a health hazard as the basis to terminate a lease because the property uninhabitable. Why? ANY rational person would have moved out immediately, not negotiated for a longer stay in the same uninhabitable conditions. Then, when the LL only agrees to a 30 day move out, the poster immediately thereafter claims to have fallen on the porch, submitting an injury claim to the landlord for compensation for a "bruised leg". Sorry, but as a TENANT lawyer, the frequency, timing and nature of such claims, will likely be viewed by most judges as another of the many played out ploys used by tenants to leverage landlords for money or concessions in a tenancy that has gone bad. If being provided objective legal assessments hurts poster's feelings, and is "rude" well........., as I continue to state, so be it. I do not, and will not, frame my posts to pander to people sensitive feelings, find new internet BFF's through clients, and have no desire to treat clients as "besties" nor provide improper enabling or reinforcement of poor decision making, over providing rational legal opinion, direction to good decision making and practical guidance to resolve controversies if possible.

Very egotistical and rude.
This lawyer has a bad attitude and loves to make assumptions without asking questions or seeing evidence. He was very belittling and treated me as if I were an uneducated peasant in his eyes. I am highly educated, with more degrees than he has. I am not one to sit there and let anyone talk down to me...
As per the course - this is yet another 1 start review from angry pro-se litigant that only wants to be told what they want to hear, that they are entitled to whatever relief they want because they declare victim status, and anyone that tries to educate or inform the otherwise just gets lashed out at and attacked. This poster omits in the the review - that she is involved in long standing litigation with what she claims started a fraudulent eviction lawsuit, against her, with a second lawsuit for stalking charges filed AGAINST HER by the other party, that then extended into a social media battle and cyber-bullying campaign and now has escalated to retaliation in the from of "doxxing" and efforts to get each other fired, complaints to agencies like DCF, law enforcement, etc. The poster made vehemently clear that she believed that even a restraining order will not stop the other person as they will find a way around the Order and sought advice about "what to do now." The advice I provided, as the only lawyer actually taking the time to respond to her inquiry, was simple. That are 3 primary options, (1) find a means to de-escalate the controversy including staying off all social media including Facebook (2) be ready to spend a lot of money litigating with such a person or (3) simply accept that this person is going to engage in the abuse and simply learn to deal with it until they get tired or move on. The poster insisted that she would not stay off of social media, as it was needed for her job as a teacher and that she would not simply deal with the drama until the the other person moved on. She then insisted that there WAS a "door 4" where one could simply file a "motion to ____ or _____" as the proper answer which she became angry and abusive when I disagreed. After exhaustive efforts to convince the poster there was no "door 4" on such a case, solely as a means of helping her make good legal decisions, the poster within 3 days of posting her initial question then claimed she RETAINED a lawyer that "took her case, " though oddly here is referenced as merely "consulted with", and he was going to doing to do this and that, claiming my advice was wrong and apparently "I am a poor excuse for a lawyer". As it now seems, the poster claims the magical solution provided by this phantom lawyer is a "cease and desist" letter, likely at some minimal expense. Supposedly the poster now believes the offender will be terrified into compliance by a "tough guy" lawyer letter, where she vehemently insisted that even an actual court ordered restraining order, enforceable by civil and criminal contempt, would be ignored and circumvented. Unfortunately, I'll bet on my almost 30 years of experience as a civil trial lawyer handling dozens and dozens of such combative defamation and cyber bullying cases that the reviewer will find that there is no door number 4.......and this case will continue to spin out of control, phantom lawyer or no. Sadly, this is what we lawyers get when we take the time to educate people rather than simply pander for business such a writing "cease and desist" letters. As the saying goes, you can lead the horse to water and all.....
