Iara Nogueira Morton

I am a native of Brazil who moved to Southern California in 1991, where I got my B.A. with Honors from UCI, and then my JD from Whittier Law School, also in Irvine, CA. During my law school studies I focused on private & public international law, taking a semester in Paris, France, through a program offered by Tulane Law School at the Université de Paris II. 

Upon graduation, I was very blessed to have been interviewed by numerous top firms in NYC, DC and Miami, and chose to join Holland & Knight in Miami, in 1999. I passed both the FL & NY Bars in my first attempt (and waived into the DC Bar) and worked at the International Business Department of H&K and thereafter, at Fowler White Burnett.

In October 2001, I decided to open up my own firm and have since focused on business & family based immigration law, personal injury, uncontested divorces and some aspects of real estate transactions and international tax.

The vast majority of our clients are Brazilian nationals migrating to Florida, but we also have clients in several other States.  Our detail oriented practice focuses on international business, immigrant and nonimmigrant visas, family unity immigrant petitions pursued within the U.S. and also through consular process.

As a service provider in international business immigration, our firm dedicates itself to numerous elements of corporate and immigration law.  We assist both, individuals interested in migrating to the U.S. as well as foreign companies seeking to establish their subsidiaries or branch offices in the U.S.

Part of our portfolio of success is also several I-526 approved petitions through the EB5 Regional Center program, more specifically, the loan model which requires a $500,000 dollar passive investment in the form of a loan.

Furthermore, we also provide immigration services to individuals interested in sponsoring their relatives via family based petitions.  USCIS, the National Visa Center, and the Department of State control the means of immigrating to the U.S. through relatives.  Our firm’s familiarity with all necessary requisites for family based immigration aims to achieve maximum efficiency and for a smoother process.  We have numerous I-601A provisional waivers already approved, where the immigrant spouses, whether with a prior deportation order or not, have already obtained their waivers approved within the U.S., and shortly after, their immigrant visas at the U.S. Consulates in Brazil.  Several of our clients spent just about 1 week only in Brazil to complete such process, and upon returning, they obtained their permanent Green Cards in a few weeks.

We work also with other highly qualified professionals such as Real Estate, Trust & Estates and Tax lawyers, as well as CPAs, hence, meeting all needs of our high networth clientele, offering them tax and estate planning, duly protecting their assets and reducing their risks and tax liability prior to migrating to the United States.

As to personal injury (auto accidents, slip & fall, wrongful death, etc.), we have had also outstanding success in our cases for we do not work with volume - hence, we work our personal injury cases with maximum care and attention, placing our very best efforts, exploring all possibilities, so to achieve the highest possible settlements.
