Two years ago I hired this law firm to handle a fence issue. They sent a letter to neighbor which cost me $600 . That didn’t work so I paid another retainer of $1500 to file suit and since I paid the retainer this law firm has done Nothing on my case. Hundreds of phone calls go unanswered and they re...fuse to return my retainer. I have filed a complaint with Texas Bar. Anyone who has this issue please contact the Texas bar and file a complaint online.

If you are contemplating hiring this firm, be careful!! I don’t want to bash this firm because I blame myself too. However, if the lawyer had only taken the time to read my divorce decree completely through, she would have warned me that I did not have grounds to suit. She cost me to pay thousa...nds of dollars !! She resigned!! Another lawyer was appointed and the case was finally completed after over 2 years.

Below is my review of the Law Offices of Alex Hernandez, updated include my interaction with Joe Navarro at ARH consulting today. -We began our relationship with Alex Hernandez Law firm by paying a retainer of $1950. We were ...initially assigned Brain Tagtmeier to represent us in our eviction case. He represented us in our eviction case, and we won. The landlord appealed the case, and Brain passed our case on to Sam Meyer. -Sam reached out to us for a 30 minute phone call to gather a brief understanding of our case. Imagine our surprise when we were charged for the time it took Sam to review our case. We did not choose to be assigned to another attorney, so we should not be charged for the time it takes for a new attorney to review our case. Sam said barely said two words during the case, and the judge stated that the papers filed on our behalf were filed incorrectly. So, not only did Sam not defend us well, she didn't even file our papers correctly. -Sam communicated with us 1 time after that case. Then, 6 months went by with no communication from Sam, despite us leaving several messages with the Law Offices of Alex Hernandez (LOAH). After leaving several messages, we finally lucked out that someone answered the phone. We were told that Sam no longer handled our case and that it was assigned to a different attorney. We were also told there was an outstanding bill of $1300 from Sam's "services". Sam provided us ZERO services after our previous zoom hearing. So there should have been no outstanding bills. -The person we spoke with said that it is policy that the new attorney should have reached out to us, and that they would have our new attorney call us. After months of no communication, we attempted to call and leave messages several times demanding a refund of our retainer and the previous bills we paid for Sam, as she did not perform her job correctly. All of our messages were ignored. In fact, my husband was even hung up on mid-sentence. -We decided to leave a bad review online. The very next day, we were contacted by LOAH. They asked "what can we do to make this right?" We wanted to wrap up this case badly, so we said we would be willing to continue working with the LOAH if they provided us an attorney that would actually communicate in a timely manner. The apologized for our previous experience and said they had an attorney named Kristi Kneedler that would contact us and take on our case. They said in order for us to continue utilizing their services we would need to remove our review because it's a "conflict of interest". We removed our review. -Kristi contacted us and worked on our case. She was very polite and easy to talk to. She communicated regularly and effectively. She stated she filed our lawsuit on our behalf. We then received a bill for the time it took Kristi to review our case. After our previous bad review we were told we wouldn't be charged for case review for the next attorney. We had to call and have these charges removed. -Then, on 3/8/23, Kristi reached out to us to let us know that she no longer works for LOAH, and that a new attorney from LOAH would contact us soon. Well, it's been 3 weeks. There has been ZERO communication from LOAH. And we found out that Kristi did not in fact file our lawsuit for us. We've called and left messages on answering machines and with secretaries. They have not returned our call. Today, we reached out to Kristi and asked if she happened to have a different phone number we could call to reach LOAH. She replied "I'm sorry. I don't work there anymore. I can't help you." -So, here we are again. A SECOND bad review. We are filing a grievance with the Texas State Bar. We will also be filing a Better Business Bureau complaint. We are also filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office.
