David Alexander Volk

David A. Volk was born in El Paso, Texas. He was raised on the border and saw the injustices perpetrated by police officers upon the lower class and Mexican Immigrants, as well as violence on the Juarez/El Paso border. Mr. Volk graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX with a degree in Psychology and Minor in Spanish. After graduating from Trinity, Mr. Volk received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) Arizona State University College of Law in Tempe, AZ where he participated in the City of Phoenix Prosecutor’s Clinic where he spent time in trial prosecuting misdemeanor offenses. While awaiting bar results, Mr. Volk worked at the Bexar County Staff Attorney’s office helping pro se defendants with family law issues.

As an attorney licensed in the State of Texas, Mr. Volk has had significant success representing auto accident plaintiffs and criminal defendants. His trial experience ranges from misdemeanor to felony jury trial experience in Bexar, Kendall, Medina, Frio, Atascosa, Guadalupe, Comal, and Travis County. Mr. Volk’s trial work has had him recognized as one of San Antonio’s Best Lawyers of 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 as well as a Rising Star Among Lawyers in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 by San Antonio Scene Magazine. Furthermore, Mr. Volk is a certified civil mediator.

Mr. Volk is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Board Certification is the highest, most stringent, and most reliable honor an attorney can achieve. Approximately three percent of American lawyers are board certified, and Mr. Volk is a member of a very select group who has taken the time to prove competence in their specialty area and earn board certification. 

In addition to his private practice, Mr. Volk has been selected on occasion to serve as a special prosecutor in Frio, Bexar, and Medina County, Texas. He has prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony matters (including 3g offenses) as well as adult and juvenile offenses.

In 2014, Mr. Volk has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in the United States by the National Trial Lawyers Association for his work representing criminal defendants and civil plaintiffs. On the heels of this honor, he co-authored the book “Central Texas DWI Charge? Useful Info Revealed That May Help Fight Your Charges.”  He also authored “Hurt in an Accident in San Antonio?
