Wyatt Wright received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Southwest Texas State University and was a police officer in Bexar County, Texas for many years. He currently holds the law enforcement rating of “Master Peace Officer,” the highest attainable in Texas. Additionally, he is a licensed police instructor and still regularly provides continuing training to other officers. Mr. Wright also is a State of Texas certified expert in the application of Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and is also a certified Intoxilyzer Breath Test Operator.
Mr. Wright worked the police department night shift as a juvenile crime detective while attending law school at St. Mary’s University School of Law. During law school Mr. Wright interned at a successful south Texas oil and gas law firm, but ultimately decided to follow his father’s lead as a respected plaintiff’s lawyer. Mr. Wright handles all aspects of personal injury cases, but has a special interest in first-party, bad faith insurance litigation as well as other consumer related issues.
As far as other pursuits are concerned, Mr. Wright is also a certified SCUBA Diving Instructor, a certified shotgunning instructor, and an IBM Computer Dealer Repair Technician.
Mr. Wright is licensed to practice law in Texas, Minnesota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska and the District of Columbia. He is also licensed to practice before all Texas U.S. District Courts; the 5th, 9th, and 10th U.S. Courts of Appeals; U.S. Court of Federal Claims; U.S. Tax Court; U.S. Court of International Trade; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans’ Claims.
Mr. Wright is active in the legal community and is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas; American Association for Justice; Society of Ethical Attorneys at Law (currently serving as President); Texas Trial Lawyers Association (currently serving on Board of Directors); San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association (currently serving as President-Elect); San Antonio Bar Foundation (currently serving as a Fellow); American Bar Association; and the Texas Municipal Police Association.
Despite his professional achievements, Mr. Wright's greatest claim to fame will always be his family: wife Beatrice, one son and two daughters.
