Impressive Results / Always Responsive / Thorough / Works on Holiday -- --- Normally I never write reviews, but Mr. McGlone has been stellar and worth the effort. In short, after assessing 12 other firms to handle the case, I chose Mr. Paul McGlone. I reached out and he responded with 15 minutes... to my call at 5pm on a Friday. We spoke for 45 minutes to assess my complicated case involving two state jurisdictions' DMVs. That Monday - JULY 4 (a holiday) he was in the office working on my case. And by Wednesday we were in court and he had reached out to his contacts at VA DMV and got the result I needed by Friday. And there have been follow-on items related to this matter that he still doggedly tracks and pursues-- he is always available by phone, text, email, and in the office. His advice, counsel, guidance, and wisdom and sincere interest in me as a person - has meant and continues to mean a lot. It's worth a call to speak to Mr. McGlone.

I highly recommend Paul McGlone. I was at fault in an accident that took place on I-66 in Fairfax County. Fortunately, the person I hit was not hurt and her car wasn't badly damaged. The officer charged me with reckless driving, even though there was no evidence of it. I was worried sick about be...ing found guilty of reckless driving and having to pay a big fine, plus getting points on my record. I began searching for a lawyer and called a few offices. Paul called me back within 10 minutes of leaving a message. He spoke with me (and with my husband) at length about the accident, what my options were, and what his recommendations were. It was clear to me that he knew the ins and outs of the system and explained to me what to expect. Because of his taking the time to talk to me, we decided to hire him that day. True to what he said, Paul was able to have my case dismissed! Needless to say, it was a tremendous relief to me.

We hired Attorney Paul McGlone for a traffic charge from Virginia state police in early January, 2015. Paul was very professional and personable. He answered all our questions and concerns, and advised us of every steps of the court process and what to expect. He was always available for us. He devel...oped an excellent strategy to defend our case. He skillfully engaged during the court hearing, resulting in a total dismissal of our case. We never anticipated such an outstanding outcome, and owe the outcome to Paul's professional abilities and experience. Several years ago, Paul represented our daughter in the traffic court and again the charge was dismissed. Paul is phenomenal. we highly recommend him.

Summary: I highly recommend Mr. McGlone for DUI representation. His fees are roughly average for the field, but his experience, ability, and aggressiveness (in terms of reducing charges as much as possible) probably place him in the top 5% in terms of quality of representation. I'm inexperienced to... the process, but that's my best assessment. Also, his office staff were always pleasant to deal with and did their jobs very well. In more detail: I was picked up and charged with a DUI shortly before New Year's Eve in Fairfax. I blew a 0.15 back at the station, which was just enough to put me in the 2nd tier of BAC and facing a week in jail and numerous other penalties for a first time offense. I called Mr. McGlone to explain my situation and was impressed at how clearly he explained my options. I was also impressed that he was willing to meet with me on New Year's Day for a free consultation (I was leaving town the day after) while most other lawyers I called were unavailable/on vacation. After I called him, Mr. McGlone's office sent me a long list of questions about the night I was charged to fill out before we met in person. This was important, as details can make all the difference in court and it's easy to forget them if you don't write everything down as soon as possible. Even though I only managed to send him my answers that morning, he'd read them by the time we met in the afternoon. I hired him immediately after that consultation, as my internet research and conversations with him and a few other attorneys had already led me to believe he would be my best option and I wanted him to start working on my case as soon as possible. I should point out here that lawyers are expensive, but not having a lawyer can be much more costly in the long run. If you can afford a private attorney like Mr. McGlone, you have the best chance possible to get charges reduced or dropped. If you cannot afford a private attorney, ask for free court-appointed representation (though the quality of representation will be lower). If you represent yourself, you will likely face the maximum possible penalties (particularly in Fairfax County) no matter how well you think you can argue. For something as serious as a DUI that could involve losing your license and going to jail, you should always have a lawyer. Once I hired him, Mr. McGlone’s office handled all of my dealings with the court (including getting a different trial date, since I’d be out of town for the initial date) and mailed me all the information they gathered regarding my case. They subpoenaed everything they could, and eventually found that I had blown a slightly lower BAC on a portable breathalyzer right when I was stopped. This (and Mr. McGlone’s reputation for defending DUIs, which I believe the prosecutor took into account) was enough to get a plea offer of 0.14 BAC, a lower category of DUI that did not require jail. I should point out here that realistic expectations are important. I believe the case against me was very strong; a properly-conducted breath test resulting in 0.15 would normally be all that’s needed to convict regardless of how persuasive a lawyer is. If there had been any extenuating circumstances (like problems with the way the police conducted their test), I have no doubt that Mr. McGlone would have been able to get even greater reduction in charges or outright acquittal. But you never know what's going to turn up upon closer investigation, and as it is I'm just grateful to Mr. McGlone that I managed to get a reduced charge and avoid jail.
