I was referred to Mr. Borbely by local attorneys in the DC area who were already familiar with the quality of work done by the DC Tenants Rights Center. For the duration of his representation on my case, Mr. Borbely was extremely professional, responsive and very thorough in making sure I understood... all the issues in my case. I felt secure that he had my best interests and made sure that my case was resolved to my absolute satisfaction. I highly recommend him for any tenant issues and would seek out his services again.

Marc Borbely is an excellent and conscientious lawyer. He did a great job giving legal advice about tenancy issues and addressing a myriad of legal questions. He came up with thoughtful approaches and obviously was familiar with several areas of landlord/tenant law. His rates are very fair and rea...sonable and he does not overcharge. He was careful about his billing practices and did not overstate the time he spent working on the matter. For many reasons, he is a rare find. We hope he continues to be devoted to tenants and those with limited funds, since affordable, committed and talented tenant-side lawyers area are very much needed in the DC metropolitan area.

Marc made a difficult situation with a horrific landlord go away. He devastated the other side in court, by doing his homework and paying attention to the smallest detail. In the end, we got a settlement that was very one sided in our favor. Going to court is not fun and being brought to card by a... cheatin' thevin' lyin' landlord is even worse. But Marc has the disposition and discipline to keep the case moving and made a horrible situation not so bad!

Marc was very helpful in my encounter with my landlord. I was able to discuss matters related to my case with him, even points of law, and get straightforward answers. I was able to understand his advice and why he was making it at the different stages of the legal process. And we always seemed to be... two steps ahead of the landlord. Towards the end, his intervention allowed me to quickly wrap up my dealings with my landlord in a way that was favorable to me.
