Marc A Borbely

Marc was recommended to us by a family friend who is a lawyer, he had never met Marc but had heard that he was a fair and honest lawyer helping people wit tenant disputes - even among lawyers Marc's reputation precedes him. We were being sued by a a real piece-of-work landlord; the kind of guy wh...o has multiple suits in court at once - suing vulnerable people is how he makes his money. We had been preparing our case - constructive eviction - and he filed his suit first. With this now being a suit and counter suit case we knew we were in over our heads. That's when we turned to Marc. Marc sat down with us, helped us organize our materials and timeline, helped get our court filings in order and did absolutely everything behind these scenes to help us prepare for representing ourselves in pre-trial with the Judge. Marc was also going to be our representative if we had gone to trial, however Marc managed negotiations with the Landlord and he settled, the landlord gave us exactly what we were hoping to get, What I think is most important to mention about working with Marc is how empowered my roommates and I felt in working with him. Knowing that we were tight on cash, but willing to learn to advocate for ourselves Marc gave us three options at each stage of the process - he would explain very thoroughly the next steps and then ask if we felt we could do it ourselves, if we wanted to work with him to do it, or if we wanted him to do it - each of these correlating to a different cost. It was amazing to be able to feel a sense of control in a process that is very overwhelming and intimidating. I learned so much with Marc as our advocate. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
