Best Decision I Ever Made

When I found myself in a situation that I never envisioned myself being involved in, I knew I needed the best representation I could find. Luckily I found Hark and Hark and hired Richard Hark to represent me in a completely false and defamatory claim against my nursing license. After being accused of... diversion of narcotics and reported to Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing with no proof to these accusations, he attacked the claims head on on my behalf. We were in constant communication every step of the way. There was never a time I contacted him and did not get an immediate response. He never allowed me to be bullied or blindsided by any of the actions of my former employer. If you are in my position, I know it is scary and overwhelming but he can and will help you protect your rights. I can not put into words the level of gratitude I hold for Richard Hark and his staff.

This case, similar to many calls I get from nurses in Scranton, Erie, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, reflects the crazy enforcement environment health care professional live in. Opioid epidemic. Medical and recreational marijuana, and now covid alcohol abuse! The Boards are on over drive pursing every lead and having every person evaluated for any reason. Many diversion allegations or impairment allegations are against nurses, doctors, pharmacists, working 80 hours a week just keeping other people alive. Call me to discuss your case.

Pitt nurse

Attorney Hark is an amazing lawyer, especially for professionals. I had an issue dealing with The PA board of nursing where they threatened to sanction my nursing license. I went to school for 6+ years for my RN and there was no way I wasn’t going to put up a fight and getting a lawyer that has exper...ience with professional licensing was extremely important also. Attorney Hark prepared me for the nursing board investigation and the assessment that came with it. He called me frequently updating me on the case and calmed my nerves when I needed it. Because I am in Pittsburgh and he is in Philly, we FaceTimed, texted, and spoke on the phone for all our appointments. (He is easy on the eyes so I wouldn’t mind ;) )I didn’t need to make a 6 hour trip to Philly ever! He is smart, kind, and is very honest when it comes to your case and will do everything he can to help you. He was worth every penny and when it comes to your livelihood, you would spend anything to keep your license and in good standing. He is the best and I would use him again in a heartbeat but I don’t ever plan on dealing with the horrid board of nursing. Thanks again Mr. Hark, you are indeed the best!

Kasi had a hard case. She was also in Pittsburgh, during Covid lock downs. The Board's are being very diligent investigating allegations of mental health, drug use, diversion, alcohol abuse, and self-medicating more than every in this medical marijuana and opiate crisis time period. Whether you live in Erie,m Harrisburg, Altoona, Pittsburgh, Scranton (Go JOE), Philadelphia, or any other state and possess a PA health care license, call me to help. Kasi did and she says it all! Constant communication, emails, texts, ZOOM, and the old fashion phone are all means of effective communication. Thanks for letting me help Kasi!

Mr. Hark saved my license.

I was unfortunately involved in a workplace incident that triggered a referral to substance abuse program and even worse, an investigation by one of the state’s administrative boards into my physical and psychological well-being to practice. From my first call, Richard took the time to get to know me... as a person and professional. He explained the entire investigatory process from start to finish and exactly what I needed to do to ensure the best possible outcome. He was able to help me develop a very reasonable payment plan- which was one one of my biggest fears because I was out of work. He and his office staff worked closely with me for months through one of the most trying times of my life. Throughout the process he and his staff would not only check in on me, but helped me get all my necessary documents in order, and personally prepared me for interviews, hearings etc. Richard also personally attended these with me and was able to put my mind at ease. Richard and his staff are incredible at their work. They care about healthcare providers and I would, without reservation, recommend him to anyone facing action against their license.

This was a really hard case. However, an attentive client who understood the complexity of the issues, the exposure to his license, and my game plan made representing him a pleasure. From day one, "Mike" understood my strategy, executed every step to a "T" and we prevailed. My extensive preparation along with Mike's full cooperation and agreement helped us win this case. Thank for letting me help.

Excellent work, won the dispute with the state!

In my dispute with a state agency, after having waited 3 years for a resolution, Mr. Hark was able to reach a successful outcome very quickly! Highly recommend!

Education disciplinary cases are complex and challenging. Proof of client centered mitigation, explanation, and circumstances of the incident help in every case. Thanks for letting me help David.

The BEST there is!

Approx. 1 year ago, I received a letter in the mail that I needed to contact PNAP and submit myself to the VRP for false accusations made to the SBON. I was a total wreck. I had no clue what was in front of me, what I was reading, and didn’t realize that PNAP & THE VRP ARE COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY! DO NO...T CALL THAT PHONE NUMBER! DO NOT RESPOND TO THAT INVESTIGATOR! DO NOT DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN CALL RICHARD!!! I wanted to just give up. I thought there is no way I can do this. This is the State Board and they are way more powerful than me. WRONG! I can promise you, Richard will never make you feel any less than the incredible professional you are! He calmed me down every time worry took over. He walked me through every step of the way. He is a proficient, efficient, timely, professional yet friendly, caring, straight to the point, no BS, get-the-job done kind of lawyer that I needed. Him & Jessica are so easy to work with. They always responds to texts, emails and phone calls quickly. Sometimes within minutes. Richard is literally a text away when you need him. I promise you won’t regret it. Here I sit one year later, writing the kind of review that I read about a year ago. My case was closed and I can finally go about my life and CAREER without this in the back of my head everyday. I am so glad I found Richard and although I hope “YOU” are never in this situation, I hope “YOU” are the one writing this amazing review someday. Because if you chose Richard, “YOU” will get to write a 5 star review.

Every client responds differently to the stress of a VRP letter. I try to help my clients understand the VRP "Letter of Concern" is deceitful letter that misrepresents what SARPH, PNAP and the PHMP really is and how the programs work. The bait and switch approach applies to clients all over Pennsylvania. What is even worse is how the programs affect my clients in other states who have a Pennsylvania professional health care license. Currently I represent clients from Washington State, California, Florida, Ohio, and Texas. The VRP wreaks havoc on their professional licenses worse than my Pennsylvania based clients who live in Erie, Pittsburgh, Scranton or Philadelphia. Call me to discuss your case.

"I have known Richard Hark for years and he is an outstanding attorney. While he handled criminal defense matters for many years, he has shifted his practice focus to administrative law where he assists professionals (nurses, doctors, lawyers, etc) when they are being disciplined by their respective licensing board. This is usually as a result of contacts with the criminal justice system or drug/alcohol problems. Despite the shift in practice, the outcomes are the same. I have seen him successfully fight the most serious criminal charges and I now refer professional clients to him when their criminal case overlaps with their professional license. He has become extremely skilled in a very sensitive area where clients' livelihoods are on the line. This is no easy task but Richard's combination of legal smarts, common sense, and empathy for his client's plight make him a perfect fit. I strongly endorse Mr. Hark."
