Best outcome possible

I am an lpn in Pennsylvania and I’m great at what I do. Due to a moments lapse in judgement I received a DUI and thought that my career was over. Although my DUI was completely separate from the work I do as nurse the program the nursing board wanted me to go through was extensive, humiliating and ...costly. I had made the decision to do their program because I thought it was the only option I had that would allow me to retain my license. Before I committed to the program I came across reviews online and could not find a SINGLE review that gave credence to the programs success. Instead I found horror stories of people who had to deal with not being able to work for years, while paying out of pocket for the extensive monitoring, lab work and constraints placed on them. In one of those reviews I came across a comment concerning the help that Mr. Hark had provided someone in a similar situation as mine. After speaking with him I made my decision and hired him. Mr Hark was patient, confident and knowledgeable and guided me through every step of the process. The nursing board dropped all inquiries and decided against a formal complaint. During the time that this was in the process, I retained my right to work which helped to reduce the stress of an already stressful situation. My name will not be permanently placed on a website that can be accessed by the world, and I can think about furthering my education within the nursing field. For a period of time I thought that none of that was possible but with Mr. Hark’s assistance it was a reality. I highly recommend before anyone in this situation signs any papers or agrees to any program recommended by the nursing board they speak with Mr. Hark’s office. I don’t know that I would be a nurse today if I hadn’t.

Nurses, dont be intimidated by the PHMP/VRP letter!

I sent an email inquiry to Richards office the day after my DUI arrest. He called me within the hour, explaining to me exactly how the upcoming events would transpire. He professionally self reported me to the board of nursing, in compliance with the board regulations. In response to the VRP letter, ...he told me he would absolutely not allow me to put myself in a position that would jeopardize my career. He sent correspondence to the board stating that I would not be entering the program, and that any correspondence regarding the issue was to be forwarded to him. He was always available by phone or text, and never made me feel like my concerns were not important. When the time came for the board appointed physician to evaluate me, he spoke to me the day before, and the day of, preparing me for the intense and manipulative evaluation I was about to incur. From the start, he had me convinced that everything was going to be fine in the end, and it surely was. I have zero regrets in contacting him. I mostly enjoy his knowledge of the process, aggressive approach, and confidence in what he does.

EXCELLENT ATTORNEY

He is an excellent lawyer, highly motivated, accountable, and intelligent with the most up-to-date case and law knowledge in his field. He was always available to answer and/or respond to my calls and emails- no matter how trivial my questions or concerns. He handled my case professionally, and work...ed extremely hard to successfully protect my professional license, and to allow me the best possible outcome from day one through the end of the case.

Helped protect my nursing license

I am a registered nurse, and was charged with a first time DUI last May. I immediately worried for my nursing career and that I would lose my job or be able to work in the department in which I have worked in for 10 years. I searched for lawyers and came across Attorney Hark, and it honestly was th...e best thing I could have done to begin this dreadful process. I inquired online about my case to his office and within 10 minutes I received a personal call from his cell phone inquiring about my case. He was very direct and optimistic. He has a strong background in dealing with issues with the nursing boards, and knows the "traps" the state will try to get offenders into the nurse monitoring program. He handled my case very well, gave me great advice what to do and I felt I could trust him immediately. Over the next few months I followed his advice and things went very smoothly. I was able to meet with him prior to my required "mental" evaluation and he prepped me very well as to what to expect at the appointment. He even offered to attend the appointment if allowed by the psychiatrist. He was always very willing to receive my multiple phone calls to his personal cell phone regarding my case even when he had to pull off the road just to call me back. He will fight tooth and nail for your license. He has done this for many professionals, just read the reviews. If you are dealing with a DUI charge or any charge that can affect your personal license, he is the one to call. He is well worth the price to protect your career for the rest of your life. I could not be more grateful for all that he has done. My evaluation is complete, and I am lucky and happy to say that I have no penalty against my nursing license, and I owe that to Mr. Hark!

Great Attorney for Federal Law and Knows what he is doing

My experience with the Federal Law has been a long and VERY, VERY stressful journey. With the help of Richard Hark, he made it as comfortable as possible. He not only helped on the legal issues he also went out of his way to personally help me and my family through these very difficult times. Once i...t became crunch time Mr. Hark not only was aggressive but already had the game plan ready me . He was very impressive with his knowledge of the law and his professionalism. Words cannot express how pleased I am with Mr. Hark and his services. We cannot thank him enough for all he has done inside and outside the realm of his job. If you want to hire someone who not only knows what he is doing but makes your case personal , Mr. Hark should be your choice.

I could not have met a nicer family faced with such a challenging case. From the outset, I devised a game plan to which the family agreed. Slowly, step by step, together we executed that game plan. I was fortunate that the client and his wonderful family agreed with each step and help me execute the plan. His guidelines upon arrest were above 40 months, not including potential relevant conduct of the broader case and other defendants. Through diligent preparation and constant client contact, consultation and assistance, we eventually had a great sentencing hearing in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Knowing that Chief Judge Conner is a stickler for detail, I prepared extensively for the sentencing hearing, enlisting many witnesses to talk for my client. They all came through. My client's history and family witnesses proved to the Judge that a downward variance to 12 months from over 40 months was warranted. The family and my client are ecstatic. I am so happy for them. I thank them for letting me help them through this trying time.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I have known Richard Hark for years and he is an outstanding attorney. While he handled criminal defense matters for many years, he has shifted his practice focus to administrative law where he assists professionals (nurses, doctors, lawyers, etc) when they are being disciplined by their respective licensing board. This is usually as a result of contacts with the criminal justice system or drug/alcohol problems. Despite the shift in practice, the outcomes are the same. I have seen him successfully fight the most serious criminal charges and I now refer professional clients to him when their criminal case overlaps with their professional license. He has become extremely skilled in a very sensitive area where clients' livelihoods are on the line. This is no easy task but Richard's combination of legal smarts, common sense, and empathy for his client's plight make him a perfect fit. I strongly endorse Mr. Hark."
