Mr. Hark saved my license.

I was unfortunately involved in a workplace incident that triggered a referral to substance abuse program and even worse, an investigation by one of the state’s administrative boards into my physical and psychological well-being to practice. From my first call, Richard took the time to get to know me... as a person and professional. He explained the entire investigatory process from start to finish and exactly what I needed to do to ensure the best possible outcome. He was able to help me develop a very reasonable payment plan- which was one one of my biggest fears because I was out of work. He and his office staff worked closely with me for months through one of the most trying times of my life. Throughout the process he and his staff would not only check in on me, but helped me get all my necessary documents in order, and personally prepared me for interviews, hearings etc. Richard also personally attended these with me and was able to put my mind at ease. Richard and his staff are incredible at their work. They care about healthcare providers and I would, without reservation, recommend him to anyone facing action against their license.

This was a really hard case. However, an attentive client who understood the complexity of the issues, the exposure to his license, and my game plan made representing him a pleasure. From day one, "Mike" understood my strategy, executed every step to a "T" and we prevailed. My extensive preparation along with Mike's full cooperation and agreement helped us win this case. Thank for letting me help.

As a trial attorney, a great review from a client after a hearing -- where and when I fight for my clients the hardest -- is worth all the thank you's in the world. Shirley has a hard case and the hearing was excellent. Thank you for the review and thank you for letting me help you.

Scared RN

I'm a registered nurse in Pennsylvania, I found myself in the unfortunate situation of being charged with a DUI. I've never broken any law prior, not even a ticket. It did make a poor decision one night, I'm not going to say I didn't. Believe it or not, nurses are human too. The fear of that one mist...ake destroying my career was terrifying. Attorney Hark was recommended to me by a friend, and once I hired him I felt so much relief. He is knowledgeable, professional, and has proven outcomes. He prepared me for every potential situation. Attorney Hark and his assistant Jessica are amazing. If you are reading this, you are likely in my same shoes. Do not hesitate to hire Attorney Hark. My case with the board of nursing was closed successfully. I don't know if I would have had that outcome was any other attorney.

Whether you live in Harrisburg, Erie, Scranton, Philadelphia, any where in between or around the country, I am so happy to know exactly how to help medical professionals around the state and country respond to and prepare for Pennsylvania Nurse, Pharmacy and Medical Board investigations, PHMP VRP letters of concern, Petitions for Mental and Physical Examinations, and all other disciplinary filings. Unfortunately, Scared RN's experience with the Board is the same as many -- she was scared. I am happy to help her reduce her anxiety, prepare her for the evaluation, and successfully get the Board investigation to be closed. It was a long slow and taxing process. I respond to every phone call, text, and email. This way stress and anxiety does not grow and become overwhelming. Call me to discuss your case.

A Great Attorney

I am a mental health nurse and work more hours than I should. A year and a half ago, I made a huge stupid mistake and got a DUI. In a panicked state I called the nursing board to make them aware. I was immediately sent a letter regarding the VAP program. The letter stated, they wanted me to go into t...he VAP program on a temporary basis (only 3 months). In that time, if I did exactly as they said I would be free and clear. So, I continued. I saw a therapist weekly (sometimes more), I had to go for random drug tests that cost me a small fortune, I did EVERYTHING they asked. After the 3 months my therpaist released me stating I did not have an impairment. My drug tests were clean. However, this was not enough for them. They were not satisfied and wanted me to go into full program. They wanted me to go into an inpatient rehab, quit working for 6 months, continue therapy, and continue random drug testing. My anxiety and stress level went through the roof. I am not making excuses for my DUI, by any means, but my life had been In turmoil for about a year. My mother passed away, my marriage fell apart after he cheated, and my father was in a car accident paralyzed. I was trying to make it on my own for the 1st time in my life and now I was going to lose the last thing that meant something to me, my career. After a few days of crying, I knew I could afford to go through this program. Who was going to pay my bill? How was I going to survive? I started looking for new jobs outside of the nursing career. I googled what other nurses did in this process. And that's when I found Richard Hark. I read all of his review. I read his blogs about the VAP. I figured, I had no choice but to call him. Even though our first conversation was through tears, he calmed me down. Explained what we could do, made no promises of course, but told me that he would be by my side through the entire process. I hired him that day. I forwarded him everything that I jad received so far. He called me frequently to check in. When he contacted the nursing board in my defense, they set up an evaluation with one of their MDs to determine the level of my impairment. He coached me through this meeting. He even took the time to call me the morning of to make sure I was Ok. I wasn't, but he made me laugh, which in turn calmed me down. Today, I got the email that the MD said I did not have an impairment. It has been a long year and a half. I have been on pins and needles waiting for an answer. It's over. I would hire Richard Hark again if needed. He was professional, courtesy, understanding, and he listens. He understands the importance of a professional license because he holds one as well. However, he understands we are human and make stupid mistakes. I thank God I stumbled upon his blog. Without him, I would not be able to continue my passion. I am forever greatful.

Review

I am an RN of 34 years, and have a meticulous record. I unfortunately made a very stupid mistake and got a DUI ( which had nothing to do with my job). The repurcussions of that one mistake, had I done what the nursing board wanted me to do( which is go into their voluntary assistance program), would ...have cost me my job, and most likely any chance of further employment as a nurse. I found Richard Hark, and fortunately he believed in me as much as I do in myself and my capabilities as a professional. I cannot stress enough that if you have a problem with the law and your professional license, that he is who you should call. He is very, very smart, he is very experienced, and will do everything he can to try to help you. He is 100 percent honest and makes it clear that there are no guarantees, but he will fight tooth and nail for you. Besides those things, I believe he goes above and beyond to help professionals. He understands how stressful these situations are and is very supportive and reassuring. He returns phone calls as soon as possible, he will text, he will meet you where it is convenient for both of you to meet. My job is not only something I love, but obviously my livelihood as well. Richard Hark is worth every penny he charges, so please keep that in mind if you are unsure whether to hire him. We won my case thanks to Richard, and my case is closed now with the nursing board. Don't hesitate to call him and discuss your issues...you will find that you can trust him to do everything possible to help you.

Every professional I represent, either in Chester County, Lancaster, Bucks, Berks, Erie, Dauphin, or Philadelphia, all experience the same stress and anxiety about losing their license. Reputation and "credibility" -- I am not the person they think I am and I do not deserve the Board of the VRP to treat me this way -- are hard earned and easily tarnished through the PHMP and VRP. I fight for every client the same way - with patience, caring, and ferocity against the Boards and PHMP administrators who what to take and tarnish

"I have known Richard Hark for years and he is an outstanding attorney. While he handled criminal defense matters for many years, he has shifted his practice focus to administrative law where he assists professionals (nurses, doctors, lawyers, etc) when they are being disciplined by their respective licensing board. This is usually as a result of contacts with the criminal justice system or drug/alcohol problems. Despite the shift in practice, the outcomes are the same. I have seen him successfully fight the most serious criminal charges and I now refer professional clients to him when their criminal case overlaps with their professional license. He has become extremely skilled in a very sensitive area where clients' livelihoods are on the line. This is no easy task but Richard's combination of legal smarts, common sense, and empathy for his client's plight make him a perfect fit. I strongly endorse Mr. Hark."
