A Great Attorney

I am a mental health nurse and work more hours than I should. A year and a half ago, I made a huge stupid mistake and got a DUI. In a panicked state I called the nursing board to make them aware. I was immediately sent a letter regarding the VAP program. The letter stated, they wanted me to go into t...he VAP program on a temporary basis (only 3 months). In that time, if I did exactly as they said I would be free and clear. So, I continued. I saw a therapist weekly (sometimes more), I had to go for random drug tests that cost me a small fortune, I did EVERYTHING they asked. After the 3 months my therpaist released me stating I did not have an impairment. My drug tests were clean. However, this was not enough for them. They were not satisfied and wanted me to go into full program. They wanted me to go into an inpatient rehab, quit working for 6 months, continue therapy, and continue random drug testing. My anxiety and stress level went through the roof. I am not making excuses for my DUI, by any means, but my life had been In turmoil for about a year. My mother passed away, my marriage fell apart after he cheated, and my father was in a car accident paralyzed. I was trying to make it on my own for the 1st time in my life and now I was going to lose the last thing that meant something to me, my career. After a few days of crying, I knew I could afford to go through this program. Who was going to pay my bill? How was I going to survive? I started looking for new jobs outside of the nursing career. I googled what other nurses did in this process. And that's when I found Richard Hark. I read all of his review. I read his blogs about the VAP. I figured, I had no choice but to call him. Even though our first conversation was through tears, he calmed me down. Explained what we could do, made no promises of course, but told me that he would be by my side through the entire process. I hired him that day. I forwarded him everything that I jad received so far. He called me frequently to check in. When he contacted the nursing board in my defense, they set up an evaluation with one of their MDs to determine the level of my impairment. He coached me through this meeting. He even took the time to call me the morning of to make sure I was Ok. I wasn't, but he made me laugh, which in turn calmed me down. Today, I got the email that the MD said I did not have an impairment. It has been a long year and a half. I have been on pins and needles waiting for an answer. It's over. I would hire Richard Hark again if needed. He was professional, courtesy, understanding, and he listens. He understands the importance of a professional license because he holds one as well. However, he understands we are human and make stupid mistakes. I thank God I stumbled upon his blog. Without him, I would not be able to continue my passion. I am forever greatful.

RN DUI

I have been an RN in Texas for 6 years. Unfortunately got a DUI a few years back, but had no reproductions with the Texas BON. 4 years after the DUI, I moved to Philly. Little did I know that the PA BON would put me through hell and back, treat me like a RN who stole narcotics and require me to get a...n evaluation by a psychiatrist THEY hired (seems wrong right?). After much panic and depression, I luckily decided to do some research and came across Richards website. DO NOT agree to or communicate with the PHMP or PNAP unless you have a lawyer by your side! After I hired richard, it was 100% worth it. We got an evaluation from a more reasonable psychiatrist and the board approved that report about 4 weeks later and issued my license (after 8 months of bullshit). Don't get tricked into letting them exploit you and wrong you. Hire a good lawyer to represent you. Richard was great. Very responsive, knowledgeable (especially with the PA BON) and committed to help me get my license.

This awesome client's case is a perfect example of a licensee facing an "application case". She has a license but wanted licensure in Pennsylvania. She received a "conditional denial"; go get a PHMP assessment and maybe we will give you a license. If handled incorrectly, extensive PHMP limitations could have been placed on her license for a significant period of time. Whether in Philadelphia, Erie, Scranton, Harrisburg, or Pittsburgh, I help every person secure their professional license. I am happy to help this and every application case client.

Review

I am an RN of 34 years, and have a meticulous record. I unfortunately made a very stupid mistake and got a DUI ( which had nothing to do with my job). The repurcussions of that one mistake, had I done what the nursing board wanted me to do( which is go into their voluntary assistance program), would ...have cost me my job, and most likely any chance of further employment as a nurse. I found Richard Hark, and fortunately he believed in me as much as I do in myself and my capabilities as a professional. I cannot stress enough that if you have a problem with the law and your professional license, that he is who you should call. He is very, very smart, he is very experienced, and will do everything he can to try to help you. He is 100 percent honest and makes it clear that there are no guarantees, but he will fight tooth and nail for you. Besides those things, I believe he goes above and beyond to help professionals. He understands how stressful these situations are and is very supportive and reassuring. He returns phone calls as soon as possible, he will text, he will meet you where it is convenient for both of you to meet. My job is not only something I love, but obviously my livelihood as well. Richard Hark is worth every penny he charges, so please keep that in mind if you are unsure whether to hire him. We won my case thanks to Richard, and my case is closed now with the nursing board. Don't hesitate to call him and discuss your issues...you will find that you can trust him to do everything possible to help you.

Every professional I represent, either in Chester County, Lancaster, Bucks, Berks, Erie, Dauphin, or Philadelphia, all experience the same stress and anxiety about losing their license. Reputation and "credibility" -- I am not the person they think I am and I do not deserve the Board of the VRP to treat me this way -- are hard earned and easily tarnished through the PHMP and VRP. I fight for every client the same way - with patience, caring, and ferocity against the Boards and PHMP administrators who what to take and tarnish

Richard is definitely the one you want in your corner when faced with possibly losing your career or professional license! From the very first phone call I had with him, he put me at ease and told me that everything would be OK. Richard is very knowledgeable and is there to guide you through each ste...p. With his help, I am blessed to say my case with the nursing board has been closed and I can now move on with my life.

RN, MSN

Mr. Hark was heaven sent! I called his number after 8pm one night (after stressing and reading reviews) just to have the number in my phone-and to my surprise he answered. He told me (without hesitation or knowing me) what to send the board to get my nursing license renewed. I called him again aft...er not knowing how to answer pending charges (ARD for DUI) question on renewal and again without hesitation or questions told me what to do - FREE! Who does that? There are great people (besides nurses :)) in this world. I had lawyers ($10,000.00 worth) who didn't guide me like Mr. Hark and told me to do opposite of what Mr. Hark did. I made the worse mistake of my life and it was a hard and an expensive lesson learned but God is good and sent me Mr. Hark! Being a nurse is all I know (28 years in emergency medicine) and because of one stupid mistake I could've lost my livelihood, passion... Mr. Hark we probably will never meet but to me you are an angel. I can't thank you enough and recommend you to EVERY nurse who needs help through the worse times in their life! Mr. Hark is truly a blessing! He will guide you in the right direction. Again, thank you Mr. Hark!

This Chester County, West Chester potential client was very anxious. My law firm's low case load allows me to devote time with every client. Meeting before and after court always gives me the opportunity to slowly, clearly explain the case, my strategies, and the court process. Every licensee is just like me; they have a professional license (I have a law license) that is used every day to support their family and pay their bills. I treat every client with patience and respect. I give the same time and respect to potential clients. If they do not need to hire me, I tell them. If I can nudge them in the correct direction, I do. My legal services are similar to elective surgery.... It is a choice my clients make of their own free will and they should enjoy the service, not dread every phone call.

"I have known Richard Hark for years and he is an outstanding attorney. While he handled criminal defense matters for many years, he has shifted his practice focus to administrative law where he assists professionals (nurses, doctors, lawyers, etc) when they are being disciplined by their respective licensing board. This is usually as a result of contacts with the criminal justice system or drug/alcohol problems. Despite the shift in practice, the outcomes are the same. I have seen him successfully fight the most serious criminal charges and I now refer professional clients to him when their criminal case overlaps with their professional license. He has become extremely skilled in a very sensitive area where clients' livelihoods are on the line. This is no easy task but Richard's combination of legal smarts, common sense, and empathy for his client's plight make him a perfect fit. I strongly endorse Mr. Hark."
