Mr. Hark saved my license.

I was unfortunately involved in a workplace incident that triggered a referral to substance abuse program and even worse, an investigation by one of the state’s administrative boards into my physical and psychological well-being to practice. From my first call, Richard took the time to get to know me... as a person and professional. He explained the entire investigatory process from start to finish and exactly what I needed to do to ensure the best possible outcome. He was able to help me develop a very reasonable payment plan- which was one one of my biggest fears because I was out of work. He and his office staff worked closely with me for months through one of the most trying times of my life. Throughout the process he and his staff would not only check in on me, but helped me get all my necessary documents in order, and personally prepared me for interviews, hearings etc. Richard also personally attended these with me and was able to put my mind at ease. Richard and his staff are incredible at their work. They care about healthcare providers and I would, without reservation, recommend him to anyone facing action against their license.

This was a really hard case. However, an attentive client who understood the complexity of the issues, the exposure to his license, and my game plan made representing him a pleasure. From day one, "Mike" understood my strategy, executed every step to a "T" and we prevailed. My extensive preparation along with Mike's full cooperation and agreement helped us win this case. Thank for letting me help.

Truly deserving of all 5 stars!

Richard Hark and his team were the turning point with getting me and my family justice. After nearly a decade of commitment to quality practice, an alleged documentation discrepancy quickly jeopardized not only my job but also my license. I spent months trying to make things right while everything wa...s seemingly working against me. PNAP/VRP programs were my advised means to resolve the turmoil. However, these programs seemed equally confused regarding my situation, but eager to accept me for guilty and dismiss my innocence. They outlined potential sanctions that would cause excessive strain and limit my role as a healthcare professional. I strongly encourage you to read Mr. Hark's blog about these programs. Luckily, I did and I was able to contact Mr. Hark before their state appointed evaluation took place. To my surprised, he answered the phone directly. I can recall not knowing how to address him, "Hark and Hark", "Mr. Hark", "Richard"..., so we settled on "Lawyer Please Help Me." And, that is exactly what he and his team did from that point forward. Not only did we get justice, my license reflects as it should and my job status has remained unchanged! Richard and Jessica were true professionals, while other law firms I have encountered only dug holes deeper and were not nearly as accessible or knowledgeable.

Scared RN

I'm a registered nurse in Pennsylvania, I found myself in the unfortunate situation of being charged with a DUI. I've never broken any law prior, not even a ticket. It did make a poor decision one night, I'm not going to say I didn't. Believe it or not, nurses are human too. The fear of that one mist...ake destroying my career was terrifying. Attorney Hark was recommended to me by a friend, and once I hired him I felt so much relief. He is knowledgeable, professional, and has proven outcomes. He prepared me for every potential situation. Attorney Hark and his assistant Jessica are amazing. If you are reading this, you are likely in my same shoes. Do not hesitate to hire Attorney Hark. My case with the board of nursing was closed successfully. I don't know if I would have had that outcome was any other attorney.

Whether you live in Harrisburg, Erie, Scranton, Philadelphia, any where in between or around the country, I am so happy to know exactly how to help medical professionals around the state and country respond to and prepare for Pennsylvania Nurse, Pharmacy and Medical Board investigations, PHMP VRP letters of concern, Petitions for Mental and Physical Examinations, and all other disciplinary filings. Unfortunately, Scared RN's experience with the Board is the same as many -- she was scared. I am happy to help her reduce her anxiety, prepare her for the evaluation, and successfully get the Board investigation to be closed. It was a long slow and taxing process. I respond to every phone call, text, and email. This way stress and anxiety does not grow and become overwhelming. Call me to discuss your case.

If you value your license- HIRE RICHARD

I cannot say enough about how helpful and unbelievably aggressive this firm and specifically Richard Hark have been in defending my license. This was one of the scariest things I’ve had to face and it is unbelievably difficult to describe the peace of mind and trust that Richard was able to provide ...as well as explaining the entire process, making himself available to me at anytime, having a suitable and very convenient payment plan as well as general overall knowledge of nursing, board of nursing processes and anything and everything you need to know. Not only was Richard recommended to me but I also recommend him to anyone who is serious about defending their license and receiving top-notch legal Council as well as representation. Not to mention his office staff are spectacular and are just as knowledgeable and can also answer any questions you can think of.

PA RN License and DUI

I was arrested for a DUI – first offense. I have been an RN for many years and had never had my RN license disciplined, been arrested or convicted for a crime. I received a letter from the PA Bureau of Professional Affairs – Professional Health Monitoring Programs. The letter informed me that I had b...een referred to the Voluntary Recovery Program (VRP) because the Department of State received information indicating that I was charged with a DUI. The letter stated that I had five days to contact the Pennsylvania Nurse Peer Assistance Program (PNAP) to make arrangements for an evaluation. The Draconian tone of the letter inferred that I was an alcoholic and needed treatment. My DUI was an isolated incident. I agree that it was irresponsible but it occurred on my personal time. I would never compromise the safety of my patients. There are stringent terms and restrictions for anyone who agrees to participate on the VRP. If one enrolls in the VRP, you cannot administer controlled substances, work in a critical care unit (ER, ICU, cath lab, etc), work as an agency nurse or a supervisor. Random drug tests are required at one’s own expense. Use of any product containing alcohol products including alcohol-based hand sanitizer is prohibited. Mandatory attendance at support groups is required. The usual time frame that one is enrolled in the VRP is at least three years. I almost signed the VRP form and mailed it. I was going to allow someone from the state evaluate me. My gut feeling told me that this was not a good idea. I searched the web, read blogs and reviewed multiple attorney websites. I contacted Richard Hark, Esq. He returned my call immediately. He explained what was going to happen. I chose Richard to represent me and that was one of the best decisions of my life. Richard always returned my calls, text messages and emails. If he was too busy, he told me when he would contact me and he did. His admin, Jessica, is wonderful. I highly recommend Richard Hark, Esq. to represent you for professional licensing matters. He is the best!

"I have known Richard Hark for years and he is an outstanding attorney. While he handled criminal defense matters for many years, he has shifted his practice focus to administrative law where he assists professionals (nurses, doctors, lawyers, etc) when they are being disciplined by their respective licensing board. This is usually as a result of contacts with the criminal justice system or drug/alcohol problems. Despite the shift in practice, the outcomes are the same. I have seen him successfully fight the most serious criminal charges and I now refer professional clients to him when their criminal case overlaps with their professional license. He has become extremely skilled in a very sensitive area where clients' livelihoods are on the line. This is no easy task but Richard's combination of legal smarts, common sense, and empathy for his client's plight make him a perfect fit. I strongly endorse Mr. Hark."
