When the threat to my professional license was evident I was sick to my core. Knowing I had an experienced, well reviewed attorney who is obviously also passionate about defending medical professionals meant the world to me. Every time I worried I also knew I had an ACE who would defend my livelihood... . I did my homework before hiring him so I knew if anyone could keep my license active and in good standing it was him! Just received a letter today that my case was closed with the BON!

This nurse had a major issue. I was so glad we were able to work together. One wrong answer, step, document, her case could have gone the wrong direction. We worked very well together. Even though she lives in Beaver, Pa, I was able to zoom meet with her, talk to her over the telephone, and emails worked great. I represent many health care professionals all over the state and the country with their legal issues. Thanks for letting me help you in western Pennsylvania.

Help with Initial Licensure

I contacted Attorney Richard Hark for advice relating to applying for initial licensure as a Registered Nurse. I was concerned about running into obstacles to licensure due to some past mistakes. Attorney Hark was always accessible and promptly returned my calls, emails and texts. He was truly there ...for the whole experience. He was very upfront with what would likely happen when I applied for licensure, and did not sugarcoat what I should expect. He helped me to prepare my application and gather the necessary documentation to put my best foot forward. He leaned on his experience to provide me with the best possible advice, and after the Board of Nursing reviewed my application, I was approved to sit for the NCLEX without issue. If you are prepared to be honest about your situation, and put the work in, Attorney Hark can help you.

Best Decision I Ever Made

When I found myself in a situation that I never envisioned myself being involved in, I knew I needed the best representation I could find. Luckily I found Hark and Hark and hired Richard Hark to represent me in a completely false and defamatory claim against my nursing license. After being accused of... diversion of narcotics and reported to Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing with no proof to these accusations, he attacked the claims head on on my behalf. We were in constant communication every step of the way. There was never a time I contacted him and did not get an immediate response. He never allowed me to be bullied or blindsided by any of the actions of my former employer. If you are in my position, I know it is scary and overwhelming but he can and will help you protect your rights. I can not put into words the level of gratitude I hold for Richard Hark and his staff.

This case, similar to many calls I get from nurses in Scranton, Erie, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, reflects the crazy enforcement environment health care professional live in. Opioid epidemic. Medical and recreational marijuana, and now covid alcohol abuse! The Boards are on over drive pursing every lead and having every person evaluated for any reason. Many diversion allegations or impairment allegations are against nurses, doctors, pharmacists, working 80 hours a week just keeping other people alive. Call me to discuss your case.

Richard saved my professional license

It was completely by chance that I stumbled upon Richard’s article about the “tricks and traps” related to the PA state professional boards. I had already been cooperating with the SW Board for 6 months by the time I contacted Richard and without expert representation I was faced with a 3-year monit...oring program for drugs and alcohol despite my full cooperation with the Board and no evidence of any impairment in my professional career. I was completely lost and at the mercy of the SW Board, but thankfully that all changed once I contacted Richard and he started representing me. With his knowledge, experience, and expertise with the PA SW Board, Richard was able to successfully overcome some of the misinformed decisions I had made prior to having representation. Almost immediately communication with the Board’s attorney improved, the process seemed to move smoother, my options were much clearer thanks to Richard’s guidance, and I was no longer at the mercy of the SW Board. Richard’s knowledge of the process and relationships with key decision makers were crucial in getting the best possible outcome in my case. The charges of impairment were dropped and my case closed without further action which is a drastic improvement from the outcome that would have occurred if I would not have had Richard representing me in this process. Any licensed professional who is unfortunately in danger of having action taken against them by a PA licensing board should immediately contact Richard to get the best possible counsel and protect your interest. I promise you will be happy that you did.

NBME irregular behavior charge

When I received a letter from the NBME for irregular behavior. I was in disarray. As a medical student I didn't have a lot of money and I was almost giving up. There are only a few attorneys in the country that have represented medical students before the USMLE committee. The ones I called were char...ging exorbitant fees. I came across Mr Harks website and I was surprised by the number of medical professionals he has represented and even more surprised by his ratings. As soon as I contacted him I knew he was the one for me. His price was very reasonable and he was genuinely interested in my case. Even though his office was in Pennsylvania and I came from out of state, he went above and beyond to make me comfortable. I had his personal phone number and I was able to reach him at any time I needed . I highly recommend him without any reservations.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I have known Richard Hark for years and he is an outstanding attorney. While he handled criminal defense matters for many years, he has shifted his practice focus to administrative law where he assists professionals (nurses, doctors, lawyers, etc) when they are being disciplined by their respective licensing board. This is usually as a result of contacts with the criminal justice system or drug/alcohol problems. Despite the shift in practice, the outcomes are the same. I have seen him successfully fight the most serious criminal charges and I now refer professional clients to him when their criminal case overlaps with their professional license. He has become extremely skilled in a very sensitive area where clients' livelihoods are on the line. This is no easy task but Richard's combination of legal smarts, common sense, and empathy for his client's plight make him a perfect fit. I strongly endorse Mr. Hark."
