Jonas Urba has lived in and practiced employment law in Westchester County's River Towns since 2011. Urba Law PLLC's primary mailing and service office address moved to Manhattan. Jonas has devoted more than two decades exclusively to employment law matters. He enjoys the practice area welcoming both small employers and employees who believe employment laws have been broken or are not being followed. His formal training and experience with employment law mediation and other ADR venues goes back to 2004. Many don't realize that few employment cases ever see a courtroom. That by no means deters strong defense counsel from putting up big defenses. In New York we have the best. A poorly initiated or defended claim can take decades to resolve. Every client or potential client needs strong facts. Facts are never created by nor recalled by employment lawyers. We have to ask the tough questions. Our clients must either recall the facts, possess documents to support those facts or identify witnesses or electronic or other documents where facts are confirmed. It's all about the facts and the study of people and of organizations. The most important feature of employment law claims is record-keeping and documents. Almost every single case demands keeping records and documents. Sometimes it's the employee handbooks which confirm practices. Other times it's practices that appear neutral but have a disparate or discriminatory effect. Still others are witnesses who we never expected possessed the facts we need. Employment law in New York is always changing. Your employment lawyer must conduct research constantly and often clients are not much interested in caselaw but without caselaw we can neither prove nor defend most claims. Westchester County is an awesome place to live and practice this great area of law. But clients need to decide for themselves who the best employment lawyer fit is for them. Call around.
