Very personable & caring

Jennifer was constantly in touch me during the lawsuit. I worked with her for a couple of years. Unfortunately we were up against a very rich company and could not continue due to financial issues. She was very helpful in letting us know what was happening every step of the way.

Mixed results

I hired Jennifer Rozen when she was still part of Fishman Rozen for a rent overcharge case. At that time I found her manner smart and reassuring and was satisfied. Once she switched to her own firm the handling of my case declined. When one of her attorneys called me from court about my case, she did... not know basic information about it. Then I was put on the spot about making a crucial decision about a settlement, etc, without being given proper and specific guidance about what's likely or possible. There was a lack of attention to detail and a lack of specific information sharing. The evidence was not very closely and properly examined. At the end I paid roughly $10K in lawyer fees for a very mediocre settlement. The reason for hiring a lawyer, as opposed to going yourself to housing court, is for someone more experienced and knowledgeable than you to relieve your anxiety and fight for your interests. With Ms Rozen's firm I felt that the weight of the case remained on my shoulders. Whether because she was stretched thin with the move to her own firm or what else, she and her team did not pay close attention to the case, did not fight aggressively on my behalf, and the result is disappointing.

Although I am sorry to hear that you were not pleased with my office's representation of your case, I respectfully disagree that we did not zealously represent you and/or achieve favorable results. If you were unsatisfied with the negotiation, I do wish you would have expressed same during the process. While my firm does strive to relieve the anxiety ridden burden of legal stress for our clients, we also absolutely honor every clients agency and autonomy in being the ultimate decision maker for matters so personal and consequential. If I didn't make that clear and you were secretly unhappy with the terms of your settlement, I am sincerely sorry. As I reflect on your feedback, the piece I find most puzzling is that although you claim to have found our services disappointing, you have contacted us for additional legal advice since writing this review. I am happy to discuss further if you would like to reach out. We are always striving to improve.

Overcharged and underperformed

Beware. Incompetent over sensitive. At $450 an house she did not deliver on anything, did not return an email which affected me negatively for eight days and then took offense when I brought it up & resigned a few thousand dollars later. It is of my opinion she writes her official documents with arti...ficial intelligence again that is my personal opinion. I found her lacking in intelligence, not forthcoming, overbearing to the client, but not the opposition. My biggest complaint was she personally requested I email her directly for scheduling and non-legal issues then charged me for it when 50% of what you charged me for it could’ve been done through her assistant.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you feel dissatisfied, but this review does not reflect the services that were actually provided. From the outset, I communicated clearly about my billing practices and responded to all legal matters related to your case while it was active. Any communications you sent directly to me were billed in accordance with the retainer agreement you signed. In fact, I significantly under-billed you for the time I actually spent on your matter. I also provided detailed legal work product and guidance based on the information you supplied—much of which later proved to be incomplete or inaccurate. All documents filed on your behalf were drafted by me and were highly specific to your set of facts. Suggesting otherwise is simply false. I take pride in providing high-quality, ethical representation, and I wish you the best moving forward.

Gravely disappointing

Disorganized. Inappropriate. Entirely unprofessional. Unreasonable. Made a bad situation worse.

Actually 0 stars but AVVO doesn't give that option

I consulted but did not retain this attorney. It was clear that she didn't have the slightest interest in my case, but she was e tremely interested in getting lots of money up front. I find all the positive reviews extremely hard to believe. No attorney actually gets many reviews, so beware of the on...es who have MANY sparkling ones.

I am sorry to hear you had a negative experience with my office. We represent hundreds of tenants a year and great take pride in resolving their matters efficiently and economically. We keep our hourly rates lower than many of our colleagues because we are sensitive to the fact that paying legal fees is a hardship for many of our clients. Unfortunately, we are a small firm and therefore it's not feasible for us to take on more than a few pro bono or contingency fee cases each year. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you are able to find an attorney who can assist you upon the terms you're looking for.
