I hired Alison as my real estate lawyer to close a coop. The fee is not cheap comparing with lot other real estate lawyers. I turned to Jean Chou law firm after had some bad experience with another lawyer. However, I am so glad that The service I received is really put me in a worry free position. Alison is also very sharp when dealing with the seller's unreasonable argument during the closing meeting. I fully satisfied with her service. I will use her again in any real estate transactions in the future in NY.

Jean, Alison and her team were exceptional in helping us with our Condo purchase. Throughout the entire process, they responded to all our numerous questions very quickly and thoroughly and were very patient in explaining the numerous legalities surrounding our contract (we asked some pretty dumb questions). Furthermore, they were very proactive in staying in contact with all parties involved, seamlessly communicating with our real estate agent, various lenders, and the sellers and seller's attorneys, which was no easy feat. Because our property was a bit harder to find financing for, we had to work with multiple lenders, all of whom asked Jean and her office for A TON of paperwork. Jean and her team responded to all the inquiries from all the lenders and went above and beyond in providing them with documents they asked for (including sending the offering plan, which is a few hundred pages!). We also reached some snags in obtaining financing and they were able to work with the seller to extend our closing date so that we did not lose the property. They kept us updated throughout the whole process and we were never in the dark about where something stood.

We are a large International shipping company with a legal department located in Asia. With the upcoming move to Manhattan from Connecticut our legal department requested we select an attorney versed in NY real estate laws rather than use our in house legal department. Immediately I thought of Jean, who has already handled two of my personal closings. She has proven to be A++ every time. She is extremely quick, responsive and thorough. She's easy to communicate with and does a great job of explaining legal concepts into plain English. She listened to our concerns and made sure to address all of them while exceeding expectations. She charges market levels, but the value of her service is above market. I would recommend her to anyone and do. Also my bosses were happy with my recommendation.
