I don't usually rely upon getting lucky, but I hit the jackpot when I retained Jennifer Addonizio Rozen!

I've had less than stellar experiences in the past hiring lawyers. In a few instances the results of those prior efforts were just plain disastrous. Because of that, I chose to try and do my best to field a few matters pro se. Not a terrific idea, but I felt if lawyers were going to separate me from... my rights and my money, as had been the case in the past, what did it really matter if I went down swinging on my own? I recently found myself embroiled in a landlord/tenant dispute and though I did all I could to see if the matter could be resolved simply, without the need to litigate, before I knew it there I was in NYC Housing Court. A simple resolution appeared out of the question, despite my own reasonable efforts to personally work with my landlord's counsel. A friend, seeing I was getting a bit lost in the situation, and fearful there might be something going on that I just was not understanding and could lead to more trouble than I recognized, urged me to get some legal assistance. Reluctantly, I agreed. Having no terrific personal recommendation for counsel, I came here to AVVO, looking for some names. I stumbled upon Jennfer Addonizio Rozen, noticing that reviews left for her were quite positive. I decided to give her a call. I can't claim a good deal of great fortune in my life, and I'm probably not the sort that will ever have a winning lottery ticket in hand. But when I called Jennifer Addonizio Rozen, I would not hesitate to say I hit the jackpot, and hit it large. Though my case was not overly complex, and probably never really represented a whale of a fee for Jennifer, she always treated it as if during our time together it was her one and only case, and of genuine importance. I appreciated that more than I can say. She was consistently engaged, positive, and demonstrated ample ability to retain specific information about the particulars of my concerns, this though I know she had plenty of other work she was dealing with. Jennifer also showed an excellent command of the subject matter and laws related to my housing case. Perhaps most valuable of all though, she consistently managed to present herself almost as a friend that was in my corner, giving me a level of confidence and comfort in our rapport that I had never really expected. That in and of itself was a startling achievement, given the fact Jennifer and I probably couldn't be coming from more divergent backgrounds. It's a real skill to be able to find a common denominator with all types of people; Jennifer clearly has that talent. Further, Jennifer handled the business aspects of our relationship with the utmost professionalism, demonstrating honesty and integrity to a degree we all hope for, but frequently do not find in this modern world. She achieved a terrific result in my case, did so with both dramatic efficiency and economy, always taking the time to listen and try to understand what I had to say; always being respectful of the goals and limitations I had set for pursuing my case. In sum, I would recommend Jennifer Addonizio Rozen 100%. You really could not do better. Going in, I figured certainly some of these great reviews must have been concocted, but I was wrong and now have every reason one could need to know that. I am very, very thankful to her. Without qualification, I have no doubt you will feel the same.

GREAT ATTORNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a resident of Manhettan I had to go up against one of the giants called Landlord. My landlord oversees more than 700 apartments. I was a small potato. I met Jennifer and she reniewed my confidence in attorneys. My prior experience with attorneys have been quite dissapointing to say the least. Je...nnifer on the other hand took interest in my case and maintained that interest. As a tenant attorney I realize the take is but a fraction of that of a landlord attorney. It takes dedication, commitment, and a desire to help mankind to chose a career as a tenant attorney. Upon first response to my landlord's attorneys' denands in court; Jennifer made it impossible for the opposing side to sustain their case against me. In the end they had to agree to a dismissal of the case with prejudice. We had the upper hand from the get go. We had an attorney (Jennifer) who listened to us and worked with us to get the best outcome for us. And yes indeed it was the best outcome. It was a pleasure having Jennifer represent me and I believe with her desire and her determination to serve her clients and get the best possible outcome for them she will continue to be a force to recon with.

Very helpful/smart lawyer who helped me win lawsuit against my ex landlord

This lawyer comes highly recommended from me as she is very smart and quite good at her job. I had to sue my former landlord - a management company that fraudulently took $2,500 out of my security deposit for allegedly priming & painting white the walls of my miniature manhattan apartment. They c...laimed I violated my lease in leaving colored walls and that it cost them $2500 to paint the walls white again. Meanwhile, I had spent close to 15 hours with another person priming and painting the apartment walls white - we did 3 coats and the walls looked great. I disputed the charges, but they refused to give my money back, so I had to sue. A friend recommended Jennifer Addonizio, said she was a smart and talented lawyer, so I went to her for legal advice. Ms. Addonizio listened to my story, read my lease, and gave me pretty specific and helpful legal advice. She explained to me that I fulfilled all my requirements in the lease, that the alleged cost of these services were unjustified and unreasonable, that I left the apartment in good condition with the walls white / fixtures intact / clean / broom-swept, and that I had a witness to attest to the condition of the apartment (and who needed to accompany me to court). Ms. Addonizio advised me on how to prepare my case for the judge in a clear and compelling manner. She provided feedback on the content and delivery of my testimony, which were the critiques that I needed to improve my case, my effectiveness and confidence to nail it. Ms. Addonizio advised me specifically what the landlord would have to provide to prove they really incurred these alleged damages (i.e. supporting documents such as photos, invoices, receipts, canceled checks, etc.) -- specific items that I wouldn't of thought of or known myself -- which needless to say came in handy on my court date. She prepared me on how to cross-examine these documents should the landlord present them in court - which they did. Due to Ms. Addonizio's instruction, I was well prepared to analyze and dispute - on the spot in court - the bogus documents the landlord produced, and pointed out to the judge the questionable items and the inconsistencies in their documents and story. I consider myself to be a smart person too, but I definitely would have been unprepared and caught off guard had I not received Jen's direction. She was hands down my most helpful resource --- more helpful than days of google research and substantially more helpful than my non-lawyer friends' advice. Needless to say, thanks to Jen Addonizio I had a successful court case and won back my full $2,500 security deposit back plus $232 in interest - awarded $2,732 in total.
