Successful LTD appeal

Five stars to David Rintoul! My story: I have a rare, progressively debilitating autoimmune disorder, which caused me to stop working five years after its onset. I collected STD benefits through my company's group disability plan, and those rolled over to LTD benefits as expected. On reviewing the ...latter however, the insurer declined further LTD payments. I could not understand that, given how I felt, and all the history: hospitalizations, surgeries, ongoing steroid regimes, chemotherapies, etc. A family friend and attorney recommended David, stating, that's who he'd go to if he were in our shoes. David sat down with us and went over my medical issues. He next reviewed hundreds of pages of medical records, and researched my condition so he could fully represent the case. My condition is uncommon, difficult to diagnose, and crosses multiple medical specialties, so David's knowledge and experience were much appreciated here. He gave clear advice on what steps to take and what information was needed to be gathered and submitted for an appeal. Not surprisingly, a second appeal was required, with some additional wrangling along the way, but David finally called us with the news that my LTD benefits were fully restored, and all back payments were forthcoming. In general: David was always direct with what his preferred approach would be, but included my wife and me in decision making, getting our input and okay before proceeding. He was upfront regarding his fees, which were certainly reasonable. David is easy to talk to and takes the time to actually listen to what you're saying. He answers emails and phone calls quickly. I am very satisfied with the work David has done for us, and I would highly recommend him to others. Yes, five stars to David Rintoul!

Pension issue

David helped me solve a pension issue in which I was hitting a stone wall alone. With his help, expertise and advice we were able to solve this issue with in 7 months. He is sincere and very honest in his advice. There were no illusions as to what to expect and what could be delivered. The best part ...of this whole ordeal was David's sympathy and sense of justice. I knew it was wrong what my former school district did by not granting me my 1/2 year of pension when I paid into it, but was getting nowhere on my own. With David's help, all is resolved and I can now move forward in my retirement. I would recommend David Rintoul for a lawyer- a person who fights for people's rights.

David S. Rintoul, LTD Appeal | Employment & Business Law | ERISA Benefits

Attorney David Rintoul stands out in his field. He possesses a wonderful combination of knowledge, expertise, and a down-to-earth, human element. I did my research and I called and spoke with numerous attorneys prior to hiring David Rintoul. Many large law firms promised me winning settlements, at... no initial cost to me, without ever seeing a file or hearing the details of my case. Suffice it to say, the last inquiry I made was to Attorney Rintoul. I hired him. Attorney Rintoul was honest from the very beginning that he could not guarantee a win, but he believed in my case. His fees were reasonable. Most importantly, he was always reachable, whether it be through his office, by cell phone, or by email. He kept me informed as to any communication he received from my insurance company. He and his staff also kept track of the dates and deadlines by which all responses and documents had to be submitted. Any documents submitted after the respective due dates could well have invalidated the entire appeal. I never thought I would need a LTD Lawyer. I was an active, athletic, professional up until a few years prior to hiring David Rintoul. Unfortunately, the progression of degenerative disc disease in my neck became increasingly debilitating over the years, further adding to a 20+ year history of chronic migraines. I had kept all the documentation, including migraine calendars dating back 15 years. The bottom line is the insurance company is in the business of making money, which means NOT PAYING legitimate claims when people do become ill or unable to continue their normal routines. David Rintoul knows how to take on the insurance companies and make them do the right thing. I would recommend David to anyone who finds themselves needing an employment/LTD appeal attorney. You will not find a kinder, more competent man who is dedicated to doing what is right.

David S. Rintoul LTD Appeal

Attorney David Rintoul Rintoul and Our Long Term Disability Denial and Resolution: He is brilliant, professional, and if it is legally possible to win a case he will do it! We did not believe that it was possible to win against a major Connecticut Insurance Company – also the employer of my husb...and who, after honoring the Short Term Disability policy, this Insurance Company denied payment for the Long Term Disability. After the 6 months of receiving the STD checks, the Insurance Company- my husband’s employer - wrote my husband a letter stating “come back to work and we will find something else for you to do, if you are having difficulty keeping up with what is required of you presently” and also “you are NOT eligible for your Long Term Disability “ payment. The Insurance Company’s letter was earth shattering, as it was NOT possible for my husband to return to work at all. We appealed this claim with appropriate information from one of the foremost specialists in the country on my husband’s condition and diagnosis. Yet this insurance company found 2 independent physicians (specialists, they claimed, in his diagnosis) to review the tons of medical records, and confirm the Insurance Companies claim. DENIAL. Both of their independent physicians agreed with the Insurance Company. We felt frustrated and hopeless. It was the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society that gave us the name of Attorney David Rintoul. Attorney Rintoul made time to meet with us without any waiting. His office staff is efficient. David Rintoul reviewed my husband’s medical records and asked us a few questions. From our first meeting we found him to be down to earth yet professional. He thoroughly reviewed the LTD policy. He did not give us any false hope. He told us right away - exactly what we could expect - from him, and from the appeal ahead. He told us what the possible outcomes could be, what the chances were of success, how we might have to proceed to court and litigation, and also what he would charge us for his work. And he certainly did work for us, for quite a reasonable fee. Also during this time period we applied for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSI). My husband was granted his SSI with his first application. Why? Because Attorney David Rintoul referred us to another Attorney, who answered our telephone call immediately, and, on the telephone, kindly gave us advice on how to apply for SSI. This Attorney did not charge us at all. However, being granted SSI did not affect the case for the LTD claim. Attorney David Rintoul’s appeal against this MEGA Insurance Company was also successful. We know this success is all due to Rintoul’s tenacity, expertise, and other attributes he possesses for the positive outcomes, and high quality of his meticulous labor. Although he is a busy person, he always managed to respond to all our questions in a timely manner with patience, understanding, and compassion. He paid careful attention to the timeline and deadlines set by the Insurance Company that was a crucial part of the appeal. He kept us informed about the deadlines, and was on time with sending documents to the Insurance Company. This was critical, as missing deadlines could have prevented our success. But our success depended on the on the work, the insight, and the knowledge of Attorney Rintoul. Truly Rintoul is brilliant! Even though he is not a medical professional he knew exactly what information and additional tests were needed to win the case. He was able to track down and gather information from physicians whom were at times difficult to connect with due to busy schedules. The documents Rintoul provided to the Insurance Company were undeniable- literally. Most impressive and extraordinarily perceptive was a final lengthy letter Rintoul wrote to the Insurance Company. He exposed what the Insurance Com
