Outstanding professionalism!
Attorney Rintoul is a consummate professional: experienced, knowledgeable, and approachable. He won two substantial appeals, and he has been invaluable with isolated paperwork questions. He always provides specific, clear, timely guidance that leaves me feeling confident and calm. As well, he is very respectful of billed time, which I appreciate tremendously. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Excellent Local Counsel for Pro Hac Vice
I worked with David as pro hac vice counsel in a Connecticut disability insurance case. He is incredibly nice to work with, he is thorough, prompt and professional. His expertise in disability insurance, ERISA and litigation practice is excellent. I will only work with David in future cases.

Brilliant and knowledgeable Attorney especially in Labor Law, he is a true gem.
I hired Attorney Rintoul because of his deep knowledge and expertise regarding ERISA and the IRS labor law. I retired after working for 56 years, at a well known private Ivy League University. After a month of retirement, the University was unable to give me a pension estimate (because of the incompetent outsourcing company). Once Attorney Rintoul was onboard and worked on my case, I received a written contract from HR shortly after. Thank you Attorney Rintoul for making the impossible possible, so that I can look forward to retirement. You are a rare gem of one in a million!

The “Go To” Attorney
It was difficult to choose a title for this review, as none would give him justice. I did not initially start with Atty. Rintoul regarding my disability retirement issues. The law practice I was working with experienced a sudden loss and unable to give my case the attention it deserved, I was referred to Atty. Rintoul. He had been the utmost expert in his field my prior atty. had consulted. I was a bit apprehensive prior to meeting with him and I was not comfortable with a change in representation. All my fears quickly disappeared. Atty. David Rintoul performed the most comprehensive review of my case and was able to glean critical information from my medical files critical to my claim for disability. His attention to detail is unmatched, he is so easy to communicate with, and I have complete confidence in him. During my professional career I interacted with numerous attorneys, and none of them matched the caliber of Atty. David Rintoul. I understand completely why my prior attorney referred to him as the expert in the field of labor and disability cases. Though my case is still in the early stages of resolution, what ever the outcome, I have complete confidence in him and would highly recommend him and his firm.

Highly recommend! Great lawyer
After extensively interviewing employment lawyers to help me with my severance negotiation, I felt most comfortable with David Rintoul. He was personable and honest. On the initial call he explained his strategy with negotiating and provided estimate fees that were reasonable and accurate. He was easily reachable, worked on my case himself, very knowledgeable and provided the appropriate guidance for a successful negotiation. I highly recommend David Rintoul!

Disability Benefits
We believe that without Attorney Rintoul expertise in pursuing our appeal for disability benefits from the disability insurance company, our appeal would have been denied. Anyone facing disability appeals should consult a lawyer such as Attorney Rintoul as insurance companies do not answer a client emails in a timely manner therefore the time limit for appeals is not met. We are extremely lucky to have such an attorney representing our family. Alice Kelly

Compensation Issue
David Rintoul was highly recommended to me by a very well respected attorney. I hired Mr. Rintoul after not getting any answers from my Human Resources department involving an issue with my compensation package. David is knowledgeable and personable. He explained things in layman’s terms. My compensation issue was resolved quickly and in my favor. I would highly recommend Mr. Rintoul.

LTD Claim Settled Successful
Mr Rintoul was instrumental in our claim settlement for long term disability insurance. I do not think we would have received the extremely life changing results we did without his help and guidance through this process. I would highly recommend his services through this difficult time in your life.

Exceptionally devoted and knowledgeable
David has been handling my appeal with an insurance company that denied my short term disability claim. My disability is migraine related so it was important to find someone knowledgeable about the issue. David is phenomenal. He really understands migraine and the issues sufferers face medically and legally. His handling of my case has been superb at every step. He is also incredibly accessible: if you need to reach him, he's there. And finally, while lawyers have a reputation for being personally unpleasant, I found the opposite to be true of David. He is kind, friendly and has a good sense of humor. I can't recommend him highly enough.

LTD attorney - look no further
Cutting to the chase, I would wholeheartedly and without any reservations recommend using David Rintoul for any short or long term disability matter. Now for my story: Roughly eight years ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Like most people, I didn’t know much about the disease, other than it has no cure and it is progressive in nature. That being said, I vowed not to let it affect my work, and for several years that held true. Unfortunately, the MS began affecting me in ways I didn’t anticipate, and eventually started impacting my ability to do my job. Though I loved what I did, I reluctantly explored the possibility of going out on disability. My wife and I interviewed a few disability attorneys in CT and NY. We came to David through an MS Society recommendation, and fortunately for us, decided to use him. David has years of experience with disability law, and his vast knowledge most definitely came out in our dealings with him. Throughout the entire process (including the initial interview) he was candid and honest, assessing our chances without promising us anything. There was not a question he could not answer, and we asked plenty. He told us what to expect before and during the entire process, and he was spot on with everything. Additionally, David was extremely accessible and user-friendly (I would equate it to a doctor with a great bedside manner), which, considering how "needy" I was at times, was impressive and very much appreciated. He was very transparent when it came to his pricing, and frankly, was quite reasonable compared to some others. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, David Rintoul was a calming and reassuring voice in what was a difficult and stressful time. Given our experience with him, if you unfortunately find yourself in need of a LTD attorney, then David Rintoul is your man.

Exceptional
David Rintoul came recommended to me by a friend. After being denied both short term and long term disability for a seemingly straightforward claim, David’s experience navigating the rough waters of insurance bureaucracy proved to be the most beneficial. David was thoughtful, respectful, knowledgeable and was communicating every step of the way. Five stars for this guy!

Know that you're in the best of hands!
I had been seeking a solution to my pension issue for two long, frustrating years. Another attorney referred me to David, saying that her office directs all clients with pension issues to him. It was quickly evident why. His grasp of that which is legally relevant - and that which isn't - is extraordinary. His wealth and breadth of experience made me feel utterly comfortable in trusting his expertise and judgment. It so happened in my case that the law was not on my side, but David took pains to explain why, citing pension plan language and referencing his own legal experience. The outcome may not have been what I hoped for, but for the first time in two years I feel that that burden has been lifted off my shoulders. It's a curious thing to feel relief in such a circumstance, but that reflects the utter confidence I have in David's legal expertise. He is a consummate professional, and I would not hesitate to engage his services again.

Honest Advice
I contacted Atty. Rintoul for advice on a pension issue. His recommendation was that it was not in my best interest to file suit. I was very impressed by his knowledge of the subject matter and his honest appraisal of my case.

The Best Attorney
David has assisted me several times. He successfully negotiated a separation agreement with a company where the HR department had "lost" the original document. Further, he was supportive and successful in correctly demanding that stock options, due to me, be awarded as a result of the same separation as there was no just cause for termination. More recently, David help me to negotiate a retirement agreement that included a multi-year consulting package.

Successful LTD appeal
Five stars to David Rintoul! My story: I have a rare, progressively debilitating autoimmune disorder, which caused me to stop working five years after its onset. I collected STD benefits through my company's group disability plan, and those rolled over to LTD benefits as expected. On reviewing the latter however, the insurer declined further LTD payments. I could not understand that, given how I felt, and all the history: hospitalizations, surgeries, ongoing steroid regimes, chemotherapies, etc. A family friend and attorney recommended David, stating, that's who he'd go to if he were in our shoes. David sat down with us and went over my medical issues. He next reviewed hundreds of pages of medical records, and researched my condition so he could fully represent the case. My condition is uncommon, difficult to diagnose, and crosses multiple medical specialties, so David's knowledge and experience were much appreciated here. He gave clear advice on what steps to take and what information was needed to be gathered and submitted for an appeal. Not surprisingly, a second appeal was required, with some additional wrangling along the way, but David finally called us with the news that my LTD benefits were fully restored, and all back payments were forthcoming. In general: David was always direct with what his preferred approach would be, but included my wife and me in decision making, getting our input and okay before proceeding. He was upfront regarding his fees, which were certainly reasonable. David is easy to talk to and takes the time to actually listen to what you're saying. He answers emails and phone calls quickly. I am very satisfied with the work David has done for us, and I would highly recommend him to others. Yes, five stars to David Rintoul!

Pension issue
David helped me solve a pension issue in which I was hitting a stone wall alone. With his help, expertise and advice we were able to solve this issue with in 7 months. He is sincere and very honest in his advice. There were no illusions as to what to expect and what could be delivered. The best part of this whole ordeal was David's sympathy and sense of justice. I knew it was wrong what my former school district did by not granting me my 1/2 year of pension when I paid into it, but was getting nowhere on my own. With David's help, all is resolved and I can now move forward in my retirement. I would recommend David Rintoul for a lawyer- a person who fights for people's rights.
